#5 Zipper Slider Repair Kit

I had a rain defender hoodie that the zipper broke on. I was putting up with the problem for a year until seeing this product and wanting to give it a try. Rather than have to buy a new hoodie, replacing the zipper was relatively easy. Took me ~15-20 minutes to do only because feeding the new zipper on was more difficult than anything since there was a lot of fabric in the way. But I ultimately got it done and it saved the jacket!

I used my needle nosed pliers and my small wire cutters when removing a couple of teeth on the upper part of the coats zipper. Then used the Carhartt replacement piece to slide on and replace old teeth. Very easy. If the piece ever broke again, I would buy this again.

My locale store informed me that they are available and used to carry them but no longer did. So I took a shot that Amazon would have them and was pleased to find them here. It’s an easy replacement and has held up well with an over a month of use. No signs of the retainer coming loose and has remained secure. If your looking for a replacement zipper slide for your Carhartt this might be the one for you if it’s a size 5 zipper.

Hardest part was removing the old one, once removed it was fairly easy. Total time was about 5 minutes. Very happy to be able to zip up my jacket again.
