straightforward to use following the instructions, better than the in-wash ones, less risk
Did a decent enough job, it was straightforward to use following the instructions. I've previously used the in-wash ones, but had a weird problem where it wrecked my washing machine and was staining my clothes for weeks after to the point where I had to complain to Dylon, but their customer service was quiet good so I thought I'd try their brand again when I had something else I wanted to dye, however I would never use an in-wash product again unless I had a sacrificial washing machine. I used the time-based warm water dye this time, I actual used a cheap generic orange bucket in the garden during a sunny day. The colour change was perfect, and the process was reasonably trouble free. The only downside is that the product I was dying was labelled as cotton and that was clearly a lie as the dye rinsed out during the final wash, however this is was a problem with my bag manufacturing lying and not the dye itself, which gave exactly the colour I wanted.

Dye worked as long as you know its limitations
Used 5 packs of this to dye desert camoflaged smock + shirt, total weight approx 1.3 Kg. Used a large rubbish bin for the job. On the day the ambient temperature was between 15 to 18 degrees C. After dirtting according to instructions, left them for much longer than instructions, about 5 hours in all. Initially the garments looked dark enough but after cold wash and warm wash, seemd to have lost some of that colouring. After drying the garments were not as dark as was hoped. The result was slightly disappointing; the two-tone desert camoflaged became 4 tone because the dye was blothcy. The other factor was that the stitching remained light colour because the threading used for sewing the pieces together was of polyester.

Buy two.
not quite enough in the sachet to do the job properly.

didn't work.
Could just be because the fabric I was trying to dye didn't hold it but this barely did anything. I followed the instructions and let it soak for longer however, it really didn't work.

easy to use dye
I used this dye to colour an old cream wool sweater. I was after a warm grey/mole/donkey shade in a mid tone so used this with the dylon hand dye grey. I used a preserving pan on the stove top - but as the sweater was wool I only made the water quite warm rather than hot - but easily the temperature it suggests on the packet. I thought it was going to be a real pain as I've mostly dyed things in the washing machine, but it was easier than anticipated and I could add dye until I got the kind of colour I wanted - I kept checking by rinsing out a bit of sleeve. This brown has less red in it than the other dark brown in the dylon range. I'd used this recently to re-colour a pink wool cardigan, so I'm not exactly sure how different the 2 dyes are. Wool doesn't take this dye as well as cotton, but I wasn't after a deep shade, and I used about half the amount of dye recommended weight wise to ensure a paler shade than on the packet. I'm really happy with the result, as I've managed to revamp an old favourite!

Does the job, actual end colour matches packaging.
I bought this to dye some trousers as part of cosplay, and it served the job. The colour matches the packaging photo. It is a nice dark brown that looks like coffee beans.

Very disappointed, while the description says it is suitable for wool, the package that arrived explicitly says it is not suitable for it (as well as other protein-based fabrics). I had to order a different dye.
