8 Self Drilling Drywall Plastic Anchors with Screws
I recently purchased the #8 Self Drilling Drywall Plastic Anchors with Screws, and I couldn't be more impressed! These anchors are a game-changer for anyone looking to hang items on drywall without the hassle of pre-drilling holes. From the moment I opened the package, I appreciated the quality of the anchors and screws. They are sturdy and reliable, and the self-drilling feature made installation a breeze. I simply used a screwdriver to drive them into the drywall, and they went in smoothly without any issues. What really stood out to me was their impressive weight capacity of 75 lbs. I was able to hang several items, including a heavy mirror and some shelves, with complete confidence that they would stay securely in place. Overall, these anchors are not only easy to use but also incredibly effective. I will definitely be buying them again for future projects. If you're looking for a reliable solution for hanging items on drywall, I highly recommend these self-drilling anchors!

Keep these on hand
These are worth the extra money given the headache of the typical anchors that come included with everything and crumble under pressure. These do require some patience and force getting started but cut through easily once you reach the threads. An amazing alternative to drilling.

Small But Mighty - Worth The Purchase
I used these to hand my IKEA shelves and they are sturdy. I have unscrewed the screws ( not completely) and the anchor is still flush and stick in the wall. Love that. I have trauma from toggle bolts falling into the wall. It definitely holds 70lbs. Now installation is difficult because using a manual screw I noticed the molding started to strip. I found using an electrical screw is better and stronger short bursts. Overall I recommend for handing shelves and curtain rods and even ikea mirrors, like I did. I don’t hang anything in my house now before using these anchors.

Best self-drilling drywall anchors out there
I purchased these back in 2021 and went through them over 2 years. I live in a small studio condo so I tend to use my wallspace a lot for space-saving purposes including installing cat shelves. These are on the more expensive side compared to other drywall anchors but I have ordered some bulk ones from Amazon and raided Home Depot of all their drywall anchor selections and the wall installations that I have installed with these have outlasted all of them. Other ones have been flimsy and will turn with the screw and the drill head, causing a hole bigger than the anchor on my drywall. I can't tell you how many times I've had to apply bondo to the wall because of this issue. My two 12lb cats and one 10lb cat jump on these cat shelves on a daily basis and my bathroom shelves and mirrors that I've installed using these anchors have far outlasted all the other wall anchors I have used. I highly recommend.

A little bit of pre-installation work and you’ll be singing praises
I watched a ton of videos regarding drywall anchors and how they were rated according to strength and stability before purchasing these. Even the metal bolt anchors that are rated for up to 300 lbs and like $50/anchor didn’t do as well in field tests as these much smaller and cost effective self-drilling anchors. I know that these have so many mixed reviews of people either hailing or damming these things, but I learned that the trick is that they aren’t really self-drilling for install if you want them to work. Now, what I mean by that is that you can’t just put this thing up to the wall with your drill/screwdriver and power it through the drywall. That’s how you end up with snapped ones or ones that you get halfway through the wall before the sharp plastic edges are burned down and you have to back it out (although, sometimes that doesn’t work and you end up in a predicament). For these to be used effectively, you need to pre-drill a pilot hole so that the smaller part of the plastic anchor in the front can be inserted fully into the wall before you use an impact drill/screwdriver and a little bit of arm strength to push the anchor while you drill it in slowly. I found that if you try to drill it in too quickly like you would with a normal screw, you will strip the anchor and not be able to back it out of the wall or break the anchor. These are plastic, and can also break easily, so by drilling slowly you can use a pair of needle nose pliers to grip a portion of the broken anchor and turn it counterclockwise to get it out of the wall if the anchor does break. You also need to stop just short of being level to the wall so that you can remove any paint/drywall that builds up around the edges, as it can keep the anchor from leveling on the wall or cause issues if whatever you’re hanging needs to be flush, like shelving. You also don’t want to drive the anchor too far into the wall or you won’t be able to remove it later on without causing some major damage. If you take some extra time with installing these, they work so much better and are so much more cost efficient. It took me a good, hot minute to figure this out with some big mistakes and cursing these damn things more times than I can count, but if you take these pre-installation steps, this is a product that you will keep coming back to and will be a staple in your toolbox.

In my experience, this is one of the best plastic anchors for drywall. For a perfect result, you first need to drill a 6mm hole and then only use a hand screwdriver to install it absolutely flush and very durable.

I received my pack today. The quantity on the pack says 25 but there were only 10 included. If purchasing this item, it would be worth confirming.

As a Security and AV installer I use self tapping anchors all the time. For the most part brand names don't matter since all these Anchors are very similar in design with two distinct differences. 1 - Split Design vs Solid Design 2 - Plastic vs Metal The two brands I buy most often are E-Z-Ancor and Wall Gripper by Cobra. The E-Z-Ancor are a split design anchor. These anchors have a crack in running down the side and are designed to split and mushroom when a screw is inserted. Most of the Wall Gripper anchors are solid and the screw just threads into the center. Most anchors are plastic however some can be metal. All metal anchors are solid design. The benefit of the split design is that the anchor will split or mushroom giving you greater surface area behind the wall to grip. The down side of the split anchor design ... it's more difficult to remove if needed. Solid anchors tend to be easier to install or remove. These Qualihome Anchors are SPLIT Design similar to the E-Z-Anchor brand. They work well when screwing them into standard drywall however for commercial drywall or plaster board it's best to Pre-Drill a hold first otherwise the anchors have a tendency to split apart when installing them. It's also important not to over-screw or strip the drywall anchor from the drywall. If you do this the drywall anchor will be un-useable and just spin and spin. Make sure the clutch on your drill is set to a low resistance so you won't over drill the anchor when installing. Overall these are good Split Style Wall Anchors. My only complaint with these anchors is the cost. E-Z Ancor's sell for $9 for a pack of 20 at my local orange hardware store. So 45¢ per anchor. These Qualihome anchors sell for $14.99 + import fees for 25 anchors which works out to 65¢ per anchor ... that's much more expensive than buying local. Obviously if you live in rural Canada and not close to a hardware store than door to door delivery is a bonus worth paying for. My advice is to search Amazon and check your local hardware store for similar drywall anchors. You shouldn't have to pay more than 45¢ per anchor ... that's the price of brand name E-Z ancors both locally in store and elsewhere on amazon.

These are about 5 times less expensive than what I was able to find in my local Canadian Tire in the screw hardware isle. I knew I needed some drywall anchors to install some shelving on the wall. My shelves need their brackets installed at a very specific distance from one-another and I unfortunately can't line them both up with studs behind the wall. I looked for heavy duty wall anchors and found this design. I bought around 5 from Canadian Tire for a few bucks and then stumbled upon this product a few days later. 25 anchors and screws for 15 dollars and they can each support 75 lbs. Count me in! Suffice it to say, I won't be buying wall anchors from Canadian Tire anytime soon. The shelf is holding and the anchor is very simple to install. Since this style is so common, it's easy to look up a tutorial on YouTube if you haven't had a chance to install these before. Overall, I would definitely recommend these, and even if you get a few more than you need in the 25 pack, it's better to have extras in your toolbox because you'll definitely use them one day.

Just make sure you pay attention about the item being sold new or used. I didn't and I ended up with an open box, missing and broken pieces. And the only free return option is with USP, which is not available where I live. I haven't used the product yet so I can't review it for now. I guess it will be fine. I gave it 4 stars anyway, hoping to be fare.
