Follow the River (River of Rain)

My first CE Ricci, and I am shook. This book was emotional. The angst and tension between River and Ciarain were off the charts. Opposites really do attract, but this time in an emotional, heartbreaking way and then not...The past of these guys, the stuff they've been through, sets in stone for the men they are now. Although heartbreaking, I have to believe everything will be ok because that ending...Beautiful writing, emotional, gritty. This book broke me.

WOW, i am struggling to write this review and explain how i feel. Espeically as this is her debut book...I have never felt so many emotions in a book as i have with follow the river. My actual heart feels broken and I've spent most of the time sobbing my heart out. 😭 Follow the river is a book you need to embrace but be WARNED!! ❤River and Ciaráin are two completely polar opposite people who are drawn together from the offset and both having a passion of football. River is confident in his skin and when he sets his sights on Ciaráin we know ALL HELL is about to break loose!😬But... "Attraction is a strange thing, and the kind I have for him is dangerous" THIS SAYS IT ALL😭Ciaráin broke my heart repeatedly AND I'm not OKAY!! I feel so attached to Ciaráin i want to take his pain away!This a beuaituflly written journey that will rip your heart out in many ways. The way C E Ricci captures the raw emotion has you captivates and feeling every heartache, pain and hurt the characters go through.I can't wait to embrace book 2 of this duet, if my heart can handle it!! 😬🙈❤Thank you for this incredible journey of River and Ciaráin i am beyond hyped for book 2!

My gosh this book gave me all the feels. Please be advised, there are massive trigger warnings in this book so if you are easily triggered then this book isn't for you.This is a MM romance with the following tropes;☆Sports Romance☆Bully romance☆friends to enemies to loversWarning...this ends on a cliff hanger.This book was honestly a beautiful disaster in the best way. I can't wait for the next book!!

Follow the River was a first M/M for me, you could say CERici popped my M/M cherry and sent me down a cooking hole of I need mores!!!!!Follow the River was an addictive read from the moment I opened the first page, there was no room for questioning whether I would enjoy this read as CERicci throws you to the sharks and watch you struggle to survive from an island while you are devoured in the story that is Rain and River.“He lights a fire inside me I’ve never felt before, burning brighter than the sun, consuming me in flames and embers.” Rain and River go hand in hand like Life and breathing one cannot happen without the other yet as the whirlwind of this story continues I couldn't help but want more from them and just when I thought that was going to happen CERicci drops a cliffhanger leaving me panting for the next book. I don't want to say more on this as it really will spoil it but this book is worth its weight in going in blind!!!

That is quite the story. River and Rain. Two souls who find each other through a storm and learn to love and trust bit by bit through years of abuse and emotional neglect. I'm not going to lie when I read the reviews I was expecting all darkness but it was surprisingly beautiful how both guy's chose love even for a short time.

This is a good story, really well written. I'm not sure if this author has written under a different pen name but if they haven't and this is a debut offering then I'd say they have a great future ahead of them. This story will be triggering for some. If you have concerns, reach out and ask someone.

Oh my word. I'm speechless. This book is everything. So dark and raw. My emotions are everywhere right now. I went into this book blind after it was reccomended to me and I'm so pleased I did. However I have no triggers at all, please be mindful if you do.I'm off to dive head first into book 2 now!

The depth of the character profiles in this story are nothing short of stellar! The attention to even the smallest of details displayed consistently throughout this story’s plot worked so well to drive an emotionally tense pace. The characters are far from cliched and the depiction of post-trauma is realistic and not romanticised, serving to embed the driven angst deep within the reader. For this purpose, it is not a light read and the blanket TW at the start of the story are there for a purpose. That said, if you want a story that will work it’s way under your skin and characters that will live on long after you finish the final chapter - then this is it!
