This gadget is awesome! For years I have never been able to cook my rice without it boiling over and making a mess of my stove. A friend told me about this amazing utensil, and I am making perfect rice every time! NO MORE BOIL OVERS!!!! It is made from sturdy silicone which makes it durable and easy to clean. I Love this product. Everyone should have one in their kitchen.

These pot covers have a center section that has thin rubber flaps that allow steam out. They are dishwasher safe and has 2 silicone handles on the sides. Nice product

It looks like a kitchen gadget, but it really works VERY well. Do your pasta a favor, get one. Give them as Christmas gifts.

This spill stopper will control a boil-over when cooking vegetables or pasta in a large pot of water. However, you have to watch it somewhat closely because -- depending on how much water is in your pot -- it bubbles up pretty much through the "flower" of the "lid." Also -- do not lift the lid to check on your food or to stir it because the water will immediately flow out over the pot. You have to remove the pot from the burner before lifting the stopper lid to stir the food. Hence, the 4 star rating. As far as cleaning this stopper goes, it's fairly easy. I rinse and wash it right away in the sink even with just plain water as soon as I remove it from the pot -- especially when cooking starchy foods or pasta, so that the residue doesn't dry onto the stopper. The very first time I used it, the "flower" came off when I removed it from the pot, but it was easy to reattach and has not come off again since. Overall, it's a handy tool and I would recommend the purchase.

I like these water spillover stoppers. I sometimes boil water to mop with & this is great- you don't have to babysit the water! This one was for a friend in India- bc I like them that much!

I rolled my eyes and sneered until I used it. No more pasta water "foam" overflow. No more boil overs. Save yourself from stovetop cleanup! Just remember to move the pot off the burner and count to ten before removing your flower. I toss it in the dishwasher, put the center section in with the silverware and the outside petal part on the top rack. Done!

No more boiling water splashing on the stove top when making pasta. It rinses clean and dries easily.
