Easily sprouted
Arrived securely. After a short soaking it sprouted quickly, so that seems very fresh to me.

THE BEST product for mycologists I’ve used hands down!
Bought these, then others and came right back to this supplier. No question this is a superior product for mycelium than any other I’ve used.

Perfect!
I grind the rye berries up into flour and use it for my sour dough starter. Rest of the flour for the bread is whole wheat, king arthur unbleached bread flour. Makes a great couple of loaves.

Great for Mycology (mushroom growing) & for sprouting microgreens/cat grass/chicken grass!
I buy these because they seem to be least handled and mostly intact. When growing mushrooms you have to boil rye berries and then put them in pressure cookers. It is easy to overdo it and burst the grain at each step along the way, but the quality of these rye berries makes them a little more forgiving then others. You cannot ask for better Rye Berries if you are using them for Mycological purposes. However, these also work extremely well for growing! Sprouting them for micro-greens in salads or juicing/smoothies. Cats also like to eat the young offshoots for stomach problems, and if you have chickens, they too enjoy eating the leaves when they are about 6" high. No matter what you intend to use these for, they are good enough quality for all! The only downside I have come across is that they are a little bit dirty, so be sure to rinse them if you are using them for growing Mycelium.
