French Premium Royal Mustard with Cognac 250 g

I had high hopes for this product. And although it was bubbled wrapped well, it still arrived leaking. The pretty seal needs to be broken off to get to the contents, and inside one finds a lacklustre mustard, coming to half way up the pot, which tastes no different from bog standard wholegrain mustard, except maybe a bit mushier. Maybe this product would have been better if purchased from a store however buying it online was not the way to go. No hint of cognac or any other flavour profile other than "not great" mustard. Not really any heat to it either. Very disappointed.

Sadly not for me

This jar looked splendid on a party buffet table, and aroused a lot of interest. To my taste it was too vinegary and I could not detect any hint of cognac. However, other guests did enjoy it.

Delicious. Delicate and sophisticated flavours.

I very much like the unique taste. Very full and kind of velvety while being bold. My only warning is about the packaging. The jar is closed with a natural cork that is fitted flush with the rim. It leaks easily. The first jar sent to me leaked so much that the post office declined to deliver it. The second jar came by UPS. It, too, had leaked, but not so badly. It's the only downside. Tip for opening: After removing the wax seal, use the tip of a sharp pocket knife to lever up the cork at two or three places.
