Very effective for 12 bores
I have trouble with the ear clamp type defenders being knocked and moved by the stock and on hot days they are just plain uncomfortable. I've tried in ear molded jobs but found them uncomfortable and can't justify the price that SENS want for the in-ear amplifiers. I wasn't sure if these were good enough for a round of clays with a 12bore but they are great. The acoustic foam plugs work just like the yellow wotzits jobs but the frame holds them securely and the bypass valve wizardry make sure you can actually hear what's going on surprisingly easily. The foams tips are replaceable which is handy. For the price they are just buy them but make sure you roll the foam plugs properly so that they conform to your ear canal or they won't work like they should.

The most comfortable and quiet ear plugs under a helmet
I have tried decibullz (custom ear plugs) and cheaper foam ear plugs but the EP7 are the most effective. They are super comfortable (decibullz are too hard) and simpler foam ear plugs eventually press against the ear and start to hurt. They are also the most noise isolating ones out of the above. Easy to insert and stays on without a problem. They fit nicely under a helmet and don't fall off like the decibullz or cause any discomfort like the foam ones.

Expensive for ear defenders BUT are good
Very expensive for ear defenders they sit well for active use I.e sports so worth it if for throwing yourself around on stage in a band or playing Sports otherwise if just to cancel sound at a concert go for something else

Good for shotgun and rifle shooting unmoderated rifles.
I purchased these for shooting shotgun and also for deer stalking with an unmoderated full bore rifle. They are excellent for both. I shot a full days clay shoot yesterday with these in and they were comfortable, protected my ears and still allowed me to hear conversations with people close by. For stalking they obviously reduce your hearing so you lose that extra keen hearing listening for deer moving in woods, but you can still hear ok and you won't go deaf if you take a shot. I'd recommend these.

Rubbish, don't work properly
Crap, they work really well at blocking out noise, but all noise, can't hear anyone talking or smaller noises like you should making them useless for sport shooting. Poor

Foam ear plugs split easily
Really good when first arrived but the foam inserts have split after 2 weeks of use

Outstanding
Bought primarily for use in a nightclub & are far superior to my initial expectations. First time using them was a bit strange but you quickly get used to the procedure; roll the memory foam tip, insert with a slight twist motion, hold in place for 10 seconds. Additional bonus is that they are compatible with the headset radio system we use. Most of my colleagues have now purchased a set as they are more comfortable than the standard ear foam plugs.

Saw a youtube vid on these and gave them a shot. Works perfect for my motorcycle riding. You are still able to hear the bike but eliminate the whistling. Much more comfortable than industrial ear plugs which I have access to from my work environment but the cheap foam plugs drown out too much sound and are uncomfortable after an hour. Listening to my intercom with these plugs brings a much better balance also.

As a motorcycle rider, I'm always looking for effective hearing protection under the helmet. I've tried typical foam that you squeeze down before insertion; the soft silicon putty earplugs from CVS or Walgreens; I also have custom silicon molds in the shape of my ear canal; all work to varying degrees but this review is about the Surefire Sonic Defender EP7-LPR. These stand up well to my custom molds in effectiveness but cost only a fraction of the price. They're softer than the custom molds and about as easy as it gets to insert. The foam is a very soft memory-type foam that I squish before insertion and quickly shape to the inner ear. The C-shape structure is very pliable and fits inside the ear cavity just outside the canal. This shape easily holds the ear plug in place. Once in, I can hardly feel them there; very comfortable. The filtered hearing tubes are optionally capped, in my preference. They look like they may stick out but it's not a problem. Actually, it's just enough to make them easy to grab and remove when I'm done riding. I do not use the plastic connecting lanyard which didn't work well anyway. I wear the plugs without it. The package does come with a little case to store the plugs, perfect to keep them together and protected in the motorcycle jacket. I've only been using these for a couple of months. I understand the foam will not last forever but for $18, they pay for themselves almost immediately in comfort and effectiveness. If these qualities are important to you, give them a try.
