An item of adoration from the cats
When i got it out of the packaging I thought how cheap it was. Originally I thought it was almost carpet like material and imagined it to be quite heavy. This was not heavy at all and is actually cardboard like material. But it came with catnip so I thought I would put it down with the catnip on top and see them walk past yet another scratch post to my sofa. Nope. They both threw themselves all over It, and have not scratched anything else since! My black cat sits on it and sleeps, guarding it from the kitten. Absolute winner!

My little cat loves them!!
I have 2 cats so I bought 2 so in theory they would have 1 each - yes they're cats so we all know how that theory worked out - silly me! First off they went absolutely mad for the catnip especially the big cat (the black one called George) I couldn't get it open fast enough for him and ended up with 10 layers of skin missing & catnip everywhere!! Once I'd added the catnip, the cats did what cats do and loved the boards, rubbing themselves against & over them etc. George then decided they were both his & every time the little cat (black & white one called squirt) went near one of the boards he would bat him away. Once the catnip effect wore off, George completely ignored them! George however ignores everything other than dreamies and catnip so this was no surprise! Squirt on the other hand has made them his new home (he's asleep on one of them as I write this). He loves them, he spends his day laying or sitting on them and uses them to scratch - yay Squirt! He even remained laying on one of them while I hoovered instead of running away and hiding in one of the many scattered about tunnels like usual. He is rewarded with a dreamies treat when he scratches on them, much to George's annoyance, and has not scratched anything else since. George is still using the old futon as his scratch post and get annoyed with no dreamies treat for doing so - he will learn, eventually! He has started to sit on them and sometimes lie on them so he has started to accept them invading his domain. I have tried to get a photo of Squirt scratching them but as soon as I move to take the photo, he stops scratching! I will add that a day or 2 after getting them George decided it would be fun to upend a newly filled water bowl over one of them, I was concerned how this would affect them as they are cardboard but I popped it up out of their reach to allow it to dry & it is as robust as it was before its' fight with the water bowl. I found that excellent & it said a lot about the good quality of them. Whilst I am only getting a 50% success rate in terms of them being used for scratching at present, I'm still happy to give them 5 stars for everything because of how much Squirt loves them and George seems to be coming around to them & I think will soon start to use them other than for a sun lounger! The 4 photos with the hoover in view were taken today - Squirt still hasn't moved from that spot!

Saved our sofa
My maine coon loves this! Previously the stupid thing was scratching the sofa, and no amount of bad smells, disciplining or ushering to a sisel peg would stop her. We even tried expressing her claws and manually getting her to scratch the proper posts but to no avail. However within a single minute of putting this thing down though, she was scratching it and has not touched the sofa since.

Durable, keeps kitty cool.
I purchased both the narrow and wide scratchers. My cat loves them. It took her a couple of days to realise what they were, then she took to using them daily. In addition to scratching, they're good for keeping the cat cooler than the carpet does. I've noticed her sitting on the wide scratcher more often as the spring days warm up, especially after a sunbathing session. It will be helpful for her when summer arrives.Ultimately, these are just sections of corrugated cardboard, so they're a little pricey for what they are. But the cat gets a lot of enjoyment out of them, and they last for months. You can turn them over once one side gets worn down, and they're completely rigid, so even the fattest cat won't flatten them. A few small bits of cardboard get shed during use, but no more than a couple per week.

Cat loves it!
Our new rescue kitty loves this! She is always going over to scratch it, and the catnip is a great encouragement to use it.Only loses one star because if you sprinkle catnip on it goes right through to the other side. Bit of a design flaw! It also gets shredded all over your carpet, but I knew that before I bought it.

Cats love it. I don’t!
The cats love this and will even curl up and sleep on it. I’m not as keen as I end up with little bits of cardboard all over the floor. (It’s made of strips of corrugated cardboard with the cut ends showing as the scratching surface) .However the oldest cat who has a heart condition and a belly swollen with fluid finds reaching up to scratch on a normal pole is too uncomfortable. I hadn’t noticed he wasn’t using his pole until I heard his claws clicking on the lino. I got the vet to trim them but since we bought this his claws seem fine. I guess I can live with the mess! The cats gave it five stars. I’d give it four because of the mess.

My vet nurse recommended this as our cat would never use a scratch ...
My vet nurse recommended this as our cat would never use a scratch post and preferred our carpets and rugs! Being flat she wondered whether the cat might use this instead. What a result! She went straight to it (the catnip helped get her started) and we have never looked back. She uses it regularly and sits on it to groom herself. This has become her new best friend!!

Great. Don't be disappointed when you first see it.
Although disappointed when I opened this (just looked like some hard cardboard stuck together) it's actually really great... and probably eco friendly too. My cats love it and so far has been pretty durable and haven't had to flip it over to the untouched side. Comes with a little catnip bag which obviously scents the scratch board as my cat immediately started rubbing himself all over it. Definitely recommend to anyone.
