Good looking food jar and kept food warm for a long time.

I use this for my 4th grade daughter's school lunches. On the days we know she is using this, we fill up the Zojirushi jar with hot (boiling preferred) water and let rest while we eat breakfast. Then microwave her lunch to hot and put into this container. She always lets me know how her lunch was when she gets home, and is happy to report that it was still steaming hot 5 hours later, just the way she likes it. The 16.9 ounce is the perfect size as she has a big appetite, and this can hold about 2 cups worth of food. Sometimes I only fill this halfway or less if the food is very dense/filling. It's just nice to have the extra room available. This is easy to wash by hand although sometimes I'm nervous about removing the little silicone components that help release pressure inside from hot foods. I feel that they would be easy to lose down the drain if I'm not watching. Overall I highly recommend this food jar.

Compact design, Easy to open, great for hot lunches! Purchased 2 (1 pink 1 stainless) and they're a perfect addition for the kids school lunches. We have used other products from Zoji and these do not disappoint at all. See pictures for size and colors. When I first received it, I thought oh gosh this is so small. But it's perfect. I have heated up leftovers and taken them to work; the food is still piping hot at lunch time. And it's way more than enough, in fact if it's something like tuna salad or stew, I've learned that if I fill it to the top I can't even finish, but that's just me, everyone will be different.The jar is very well made, easy to clean and adorable. I love it so much and I'm glad I bought it. Zojirushi products are top notch (I have their 3-cup rice cooker too.) Hooray for excellent products!!

This keeps my food super warm for at least 4 1/2 hours! I wake up at 5:00, heat up my food, pour boiling water into the canister to warm it up, and am out the door by 6:00. By the time my lunch rolls around to 10:30, the food is still too hot for me to eat most of the time!My only complaint is that sometimes (and I feel like this just may be physics in play) is that if I screw it on too tight in the morning, I have a devil of a time getting it off when I go to eat my lunch.

Keeps food HOT for hours and hours. I would highly recommend this food jar to any parent looking to send their child to school with a hot lunch. I tested it the min. I got it. I poured hot tap water at around 6pm. The next night, at 6pm, i opened the jar and without doubt and to my very happy surprise, the hot tap water stayed hot for 24 hours. The product is amazing!!! and my daughter truly enjoys bringing hot lunch to school. Thank you Zojirushi !!!

Worked well for my 6 year old and kept food nice and warm for lunch at 12.30 PM. Sometimes she has said that it was hot, which is great because I know the lunch box works. I would just heat up the food in the microwave for lesser time or wont close the lid super tight.Works good for rice, pasta, steamed veggies.Got my second one today for another kid.

It keeps food warm for hours, however, its very difficult to clean, and the whole product depends on a tiny little lid that fell into my food and was lost. You cannot buy it and the product is now useless.
