So, my old toaster was 20+ years old and as a 50 year old guy I use stuff until it dies. My old toaster started smoking a year ago and would set off the smoke alarm everytime I toasted my raisin bread in the morning with my coffee. I took it apart with my Grandson to teach him that you can repair stuff instead of just throwing everything out as most people do. We cleaned every part and put it back together and it lasted another year before dying completely. So, time to pop onto Amazon to find a new toaster. I didn't know they made smart toasters, and I didn't know I needed one. This one tells you when the toast, bagel, etc will be done depending on how dark you want it. I like my toast or bagel crunchy and dark. Some toasters don't do that well. This one did right off the bat. It even has a pop up rack to thaw out frozen bagels! How handy is that? No more waiting all day for them to thaw, just pop up the rack and put on the thaw setting. The toast comes out exactly like I like it. It had a factory smell the first 2 times but after that nothing but toast smell. The Elite Gourmet ECT 4400b is worth the money. Spend the extra $10 for this as it's worth the little extra. If I saw this at a friend's house and they said they paid $200 I'd believe it and I'd go buy one, it's that nice. Worth every penny and more. Thank you Amazon and Elite Gourmet!!

Works amazingly well, nice design, and multifunctional.

This is an average basic toaster. Good for the money works well and has a bagel setting. Not thrilled with it, but it was bought in an emergency to have a toaster where we were going. Serves its purpose. Would not buy another one. I like bells and whistles.

Toasts quickly, love the warming rack feature! Sleek and clean, doesn’t take up a lot on the counter.

Randy K said it best....I read reviews....but I guess I read more of the good reviews and not enough of the not so good ones...as that is what we are experiencing... We kept trying different times/options to no avail...back to Amazon it goes and on to try to find a new toaster. Not sure how there are so many good reviews...unless it is only when you are using a larger piece of bread...but that is the main reason I bought this toaster! Sourdough bread... "With all the great reviews, I really wanted to like this product. It fit where we wanted to store it and it looks nice. Unfortunately, that is all I can say that is good about it. In testing it for the first time, I noticed that the toasting elements were not getting uniformly hot (see photos). You can see in the photos that many of the wire segments are not red, which means they are not getting hot enough to toast those areas of the bread. We thought we would try this out for a few days and could not find a setting that would toast the bread but without scorching it in spots. Sadly, we could not find such a setting. We have used it every day since we received it. While it is a nice looking product, it has failed in its primary job which is "toaster". I cannot tell whether this is a result of poor design, poor quality control or both. Either way we will keep looking for a different solution. I am returning this one for a refund."

Great toaster, love it. Old died

I like the look and style but it does not toast evenly (and it's not in bagel mode). One side is dark while the other side will be barely toasted. It's not enough to deter me from using it though. I love the long slot design.

This is a great toaster, exactly as described. Twice as fast as our old toaster. Love it!

Don't risk buying this toaster. This is one of the most expensive and the first time I used it, it caused a fire in my kitchen. The auto pop up mechanism dis not work and caused a fire. Thank fully I had a fire extinguisher at hand and was able to get it in control. This was one of the most expensive toasters on Amazon and now I have no way to return it.

No indication that this is not suitable for UK use - what a complete waste of time.

Love this toaster. My wife can do her Rye bread without cutting the slice in half first and she is able to toast two slices at a time. I like to use the bagel setting and toast one or two bagels. It really will toast just the sliced side of the bagel and I love that!

Voilà un grille-pain qui a belle apparence sur le comptoir. Rôtissage prévisible selon un tableau fourni qui montre les différents résultats (de chaque côté) selon la sorte de pain utilisé. Ne grille pas pareil de chaque côté, la différence est bien visible. J'ai tout de suite remarqué que mes rôties sont plus croustillantes avec ce grille-pain. J'aime beaucoup le compte à rebours du temps restant. Beaucoup plus pratique que je croyais. Le ressort qui éjecte la ou les rôties à la fin de la cuisson est sec et brut. Ce qui laisse une impression de moindre qualité. Les rôties sursautent à la fin mais ne sont pas éjectées hors de l'appareil. Serait beaucoup plus plaisant si la rôtie était éjectée plus doucement ou juste un peu plus amortie. Considérant le côté qualité/prix je dirais que c'est un bon achat.
