I guess I had low expectations- this worked much better and more easily than I expected.
Best to keep the smaller exposed SS surface right at the waterline, it will pull water from the underside (the larger exposed surface).

Wires broke off within ten minutes.
Wires broke off too easily. Tried to re-solder them, but didn't work. Cheaply made product.

It works.....
No instructions ... so I can see why people give up on it in frustration, and it is also small and fragile. I see why some leave bad reviews. It takes a little fiddling but it works fine. Details of working with this is actually on the Amazon page in the bullet items ... fragile, finnicky but it works.

Delicate
First one came with a wire disconnected. USB port on the replacement snapped off when I tried to plug it in. Returned both for a refund.

Works better then expected
Using it in an old G-Scale locomotive and it’s smoking like crazy.

cool but fell apart easy and its tiny!
This part is much smaller than the pic would have you believe, plus it falls apart at the soldering sites easy.

Worked great. Has a bigger cooling effect than I thought it might. Cant do oil tho, just water lol
