Matures the whisky
Definitely improves the taste of the whisky. A bit of fun choosing which one to put in it but worth the wait.

Slightly larger than 1 litre
Worth noting that the barrel I got was slightly more than one litre. More like 1.25. So make sure you factor that in to your quantities, if you’re barrel aging cocktails.

Solid Oak
So far, an excellent wee barrel. The instructions, which are available online and in brief form within the packaging, give clear dos and don'ts concerning how to use the barrel and storage/cleaning details. My barrel didn't leak so no sealant or wax was required. Barrel wax is hard to come by, so a food-grade sealant will be a good alternative. I have my Jamesons whiskey in the barrel now and I am leaving it for likely a year as I want to see the long-term effects of ageing on the blend in virgin American oak. Roughly, it's a month to a month and half for a year in a standard-size barrel (some sites give exactly 58 days for a 1 litre to standard barrel ratio). I will review again when I try the whiskey!

Great quality! Liquid still in the cask
Good quality! I had to put some wax of course but that’s normal.

Excellent seller, brilliant service.
Absolutely stunning. Beautiful item. I bought this as a 60th birthday gift for the man who has everything. He didn't have one of these.

Decent barrel
Currently got some whisky ageing in this small barrel. The initial set up for the barrel is pretty simple fit the tap and fill with water and rinse then refill and check for leaks then leave for about a week and seal any remaining leaks with wax (I used natural unsented bees wax and it works great) only issue I’m having is the uk is currently in a heat wave and finding a cool spot for it to sit so it doesn’t evaporate is proving difficult thoooo covering the barrel in a damp cloth is slowing the evaporation down a lot but luckily have enough whisky to top it up when it evaporates to much will update this review in time once the whisky is aged
