Absolutely Fabulous! Dahlings!
My little dog had a serious soft tissue injury in her right hind leg, so the foam steps she used to get up on the sofa were no good as she had to lift her legs up to climb the steps and that was a definite no! She only has little 3" legs bless her. I was looking for ramps so she could get on the sofa where she likes to sit next to me for a snuggle. I keep her in a crate overnight since the injury so I know she's not attempting to jump up on the sofa and injure the leg even more, what she needed was a ramp. So I came on Amazon and found this ramp. It's not exactly steps and it's not exactly a ramp, but as you can see from the photos it has a very gentle incline in the middle and the bottom step is long enough to allow her to stand on with all 4 paws before going up to the next level, plus there's no 'step' up onto the bottom level as it slopes down to the floor perfectly. It's 28" long so comes out into the room a little and you have to be careful where you place it (trip hazard) It's just over 15" wide which is ample for a small to medium dog, and 12" high. It's not quite level with the top cushion of the sofa, but only about 2" lower so not a problem. If I'd gone for a slightly taller one which was only available in the 3 step gentle slope model then it would have been 36" long and been far too big for my small lounge. As it is, it's perfect. I am over the moon with it, and thank you to the kind customer with her 2 little dogs who answered my question about the length of the actual 'steps' for each level. That was a great help, thank you, you're a star! It arrives in a very strong cardboard box and inside it's rolled up tight and wrapped in strong polythene to hold it in a roll shape. It's had all the air expressed from it, vacuum packed, so easier to post. Along with the actual ramp there is a really good quality corduroy cover, the bottom seems to be a kind of polyester type fabric with adorable little rubber non-slip paws on so it can't slip on carpet or laminate/vinyl flooring. The third item in the box is a lint roller with 3 rolls of sticky so if you need to get fur off the ramp, you can just run the roller over and it picks up all the hairs. The paper on the rolls can be torn off once you've used it very similar to toilet or kitchen roll sheets so its ready to use again. The rolls have a decent amount of sticky paper on them. As soon as I cut the polythene wrapping away from the step/ramp they sprung into shape. I didn't have to wait any time at all, they were ready immediately. The other foam steps I had needed a few hours to inflate themselves. These do not. Or not the ones I received anyway. I was pleased about that because she could use the ramp sooner. I fitted the cover on the top first and pulled it tight across to remove any wrinkles, then flipped the ramp over onto it's top side and laid the bottom fabric across the base. I slowly closed the zip making sure the foam was snuggly inside and wouldn't catch in the zip. It's not a heavy duty zip but it is strong enough for purpose, after having had this type of product before which has had the cover washed umpteen times, the zip has not broken on that one in 2yrs so I knew it was man enough for the job. Just go slowly and carefully and it will be fine. The cover is a snug fit, but it needs to be to prevent any wrinkles which your pet could catch his/her claws in. Not all animals are agile, they're like us, some are clumsy or hippo footed and trip over nothing, bit like myself actually. lol I stood the ramp in place, made sure it was up against the sofa snuggly and asked Dora to try them out. She took to them like a duck to water. A bit too fast and over enthusiastic the first time and by the time I'd pressed record for the video she was already on the sofa. But the second attempt was a bit better. This morning I managed to get some still photos of her on them. As you can see there are no steep parts she would have to lift her little legs up and over and she just needs to hop over the end onto the sofa. Perfect! So it's a yes from me and a yes from Dora and a yes I would definitely recommend these. They may be a bit pricey compared to some but the others don't have such a gentle slope. This ramp is perfect for small pets or those with dodgy joints or cruciate or knee problems so in my opinion they are the best of all similar products available on Amazon.

Measure it
I bought this item having read other good reviews on Amazon. It was easy to set up, is sturdy and good quality. and I felt good value. I got it for my old cat, now over 19 years, so she could get up onto the bed more easily, but so far she has not used it, preferring to scramble up as before. She may decide to use it if she gets less agile but like many cats she distrusts anything new. I would suggest you measure it which I did not (though I don't know why I didn't!) as my bed is quite high and the top step is 12 inches away from the top of the mattress. If your animal is prone to scratching you might find the cover gets pulled and tatty looking quite quickly. My old cat is not interested in scratching any more but I thought I'd mention it. Another point is that, although it is sturdy, it can easily shift out of position, so if it was in use I'd probably try to attach it to the bed with big strong safety pins or something. I'm giving it full stars because it is not the item's fault the cat doesn't use it!

Perfect for small dogs
I would describe this product as a cross between steps and a ramp. ( the steps are undulating) it is light, but sturdy and is perfect for my Westie. She uses it to get on and off the sofa as I discourage her from jumping following a leg injury. I must admit I did struggle putting on the cover, taking me three attempts before it fitted exactly as it should. However, it is a very worthwhile product and I’m definitely considering buying another for a different room.
