Flower Philosophy: Seasonal projects to inspire & restore Hardcover – 9 Feb. 2023

Review written by my Wife- this book is beautifully photographed and put together in a lovely way and I very much enjoy escaping into it’s pages. I do wish though that there were no references to ‘during lockdown’ or ‘during the covid-19 pandemic’ I understand why the writer has felt the need to include them in her writing but it really does make the book slightly jarring on a few pages. Poetic words then bam! flashback to that awful time, it pulls me out of that moment of focus and joy that flowers give me and perhaps makes this book less timeless than others I own. I still recommend it though.

This is a wonderful seasonal inspirational book

Anna’s confidence and strong eye of how she feels flower arranging should be is felt here at its most magical yet. A wonderful follow on from her first work that still has at its core the essence of what her vision, swallows and damsons is, with flowers of a colour pallet of buffs, whites and oranges like a Renaissance millefleur tapestry, letting them reign supreme within her arrangements. She is bold enough to admit to foraging from car parks which is refreshing at a time of many florist books either having endless acres or a budget that allows them to buy everything needed from a flower market. The photos are varied giving inspiration to both flower arranging in the home to parties and events. Loved the appearance mushrooms and a sense of Anna’s free and bold spirit in this work, alluringly whimsical at times yes but bold and strong at the same time, a rare thing within flower books to be found.
