Drains batteries and BROKE my battery
UPDATED AFTER USE ON SET -While I still think the light itself performs well for the price (its lightweight, bright and the colors are accurate)... I had some major problems actually using it for the first time on set. 1) The light only lasted about 10min on full power with 2 NPF-970s. It drained them so quick that there wasnt enough juice to keep the light on, however the batteries themselves werent fully dead and worked on my other panel lights. But the Sutefoto refused to power back up. The moment the batteries drop below like 70% capacity, the light cant be used. Pretty useless. 2) when removing the batteries IT GUTTED ONE OF MY BATTERIES. The connector slot that accepts the pins in the camera, ripped out and stayed on the light. The pin on the light obviously was too large and had too good a grip and when I removed the battery it just ripped it right out, making one of the batteries essentially a useless paperweight now. The little connector is still jammed on it and I cant get it off, meaning no new batteries can be used with it.The entire purpose of getting this light was to have an easy to move portable light for outdoor shoots... and it failed hard in the first 10min of setup.â-------- original review --------Someone gave 3 stars because they KNEW it was plastic but were somehow still upset it was plastic. It never claimed to be a robust steel unibody light. I think its unfair to rate it low just because its made of plastic. Its really a solid light. Very bright, seems very accurate, the reflector is as good as any and works well, I actually really like the placement of the NPF batter slots too. Its light enough that it can be used as a handheld light for film scenes on the move. While its molded plastic, it doesnt feel as cheap as youd think or as that other reviewer makes it out to be. I have used GVM lights and those feel 10x weaker than this. These are decently thick molded plastic. The ONLY worry I have is th plastic mount thats attached with 4 little screws... i presume it will loosen over time. But right out the box this thing is a beast for the money.Highly recommend for anyone who doesnt have the full on aputure budget but needs something powerful and accurate for videos. The ONLY negative thing I found about this light really (aside from just the obvious compromises with any affordable light vs expensive ones) is that the FX modes are pretty lame. The fire one in particular is really bad. It just flickers slowly to different brightnesses and increasing frequency doesnt seem to help. Very unnatural feeling. But I didnt get it for the FX modes so im not too worried. The RGB/HSL is great. Very very vibrant and bright color from.this light with the ability to blend colors or blend white in to make a vibrant color less saturated - very nice feature. Not recommended for busy professionals with access to bigger name brands. But for the average videographer or filmmaker on a budget, this thing kicks butt for a great price. Highly recommend.

Nice light but very plasticky!
The Bluetooth app works flawlessly and itâs a nice little light! Very portable! I wish it came with a yoke mount but itâs still a great value. One time it went from 100 to 40 percent light output by itself even when it was a cold day! I couldnât figure out why but it hasnât happened that since. Therefore, I use it only in the situation where it doesnât matter. I donât feel comfortable using this light for a long interview! RGB works nice!!!

Great Value, But Cheap Material
I ordered this light knowing that it was made of plastic material. However, I didn't realize it was really cheap plastic and felt almost like it would just fall apart if handled it too rough. I did watch a coupe of Youtube videos on this before buying and knew it was made of cheap plastic, but it performed very well in the reviews. I would say the unit did perform as expected, but it just felt too flimsy for me. As noted in the video, if you just need a light with varying colors and it won't be handled very much, I would highly recommend this light. On the other hand, if you plan to use this light on the go or in a very busy studio, then I would say spend the extra $$ and get the Aputure/Araman P60C.

Nice budget full color studio light
It's a high quality of light, especially for the price. Wide range of versatility with full white balance control and color. I was surprised with the brightness, it packs a punch. Fun effects as well. The front has a Bowens mount which is the standard for this type of light, meaning it will take most front modifiers. Cool that it can run on Sony NPF batteries as well as dc power with the cable provided. There's two slots for the batteries on either side of the light and both need a battery for it to turn on. The main body is constructed of plastic which is expected for a light of this price. Seems fairly durable and light weight is a benefit. Overall solid light with a lot of functionality.
