I'm a big fan of Hitachi - I have 5 or 6 perfect working power tools dating back 40 years ... so I bought this one because it's compatible with one of my power drills. It turned up with the new name for Hitachi power tools Hikoki... I'm hoping the quality is the same...

Hitachi, say no more.
This is a replacement the for my old hitachi grinder with the old bayonet fitting now I buy there tools they are all slide fitting, so I sold all my old bayonet style to a keen d,I,y person, I suspect this unit will be as good as my old one after many years of use , it still performed as the day I first purchased it.

battery selection
This product is almost exactly what I needed. Its size ,operation, usefullnes were just the job. Unfortunately this unit had a different battery to the ones I already had with a 18v drill set. The description "slide on" was not an adequate description and a totally incompatible match to this grinder. I have since purchased a Hitachi 18v grinder with a matching battery so they are made. Beware as this mistake cost me about £18 in wasted postage.

One of my most used power tools
Having already got an Hitachi Drill, I already had a 5ah battery. Got this tool because as a carpenter and locksmith I often need to cut things quickly onsite. From Poles inside wardrobes, to spindles for handles to cutting through a deadlocked door bolt this is a superb machine. Totally portable and reliable. I do think you need a bigger battery to get the most out of it though.

Great product.
Got this to replace my old one that I overheated, my bad! Also got a the brushless version but prefer this as the switch is not an interlocking type. Brushless the battery lasts approximately 2x as long.
