Zoom Exh 6 Combo Input Capsule

Turns 4 inputs into 6! Brilliant. The extra inputs are not phantom powerable - but thats ok. This has meant that I can run 5x ECM77b lapel mics for an interview, and an input for an audience reaction mic, all via my Zoom F4 - 2 extra tracks in for £50! Bargain!

I purchased this to add to my Zoom H6 so as to turn the H6 into a six 'line' input recorder - this means I can now use my H6 as having THREE 'stereo' inputs which is exactly what I need to record my three stereo synthesisers at the same time playing in synchronisation. Other reviewers have commented that this unit is overly heavy and I would agree and can only put that down to the fact that it is a solid block of metal that is extremely well constructed. As the unit 'clips' into the head of the H6 it is held there securely and its bulky weight doesn't cause any problems for the H6 to hold it in place. The levels controls follow the same rotating dial design as those on the H6 and also feature the same slide switch to attenuate the input levels, if required. As this unit sits in place of the interchangeable mic head which comes with the H6, the recordings made through it are sent to tracks 1 and 2, either as individual tracks or, when selected on the H6, as a stereo 'pair' to tracks 1 and 2. Purchasing this item has now extended the usefulness of the already superb H6 and I highly recommend it if you, like me, require the extra inputs.

Works like a charm as I can record from the Zoom H6 on the 2 extra channels individually. A vital accessory to expand your recording options with the Zoom H6.

There's nothing wrong with this piece of kit, but I'd love it more if my H5 would supply phantom power to the capsule. How hard can that be, Zoom?I think my honest rating would be 3 stars, for the functionality I get, but I can't blame it for the H5 shortcoming.I also want to mention that the image slightly mismatches that on Zoom's site. However, I questioned this and the supplier reassured that this is a genuine Zoom item. I am confident that that was correct. The packaging and label are clearly Zoom's own, as was the serial number.If this kit is right for you, it does it's job well. But be sure you either don't need phantom (or plugin) power, or you have your own phantom power supply.

An extension of the Zoom H6 providing an additional 2x XLR inputs on the recorder. It should be noted that you CANNOT supply phantom power to the inputs.

very useful if you need to add more inputs in, how ever the inputs come in as mono, which is fine for podcasting and can be fixed in post.

Well handy for video jobs. Using extra XLR ins for backup audio sources.
