I bought this because I want to try to experiment in making sausages but did not want toninvest in heavy duty pro sausage maker. It is a good enough tool for beginners like me, but you do have to push hard to get the meat out, I usually use a stepping stool so I can put my weight when pushing. It works quite well once you get the hang of it, there was a bit of a learning curve for me since I’ve never made sausages before. It also gets most if the meat out ofvthe canister. The issue that I have is the suction, my tool did not have any suction. It is extremely easy to clean and it does not retain the smell of the sausages.

The meat won't come out if you don't use lot of pressure to push the plunger. It takes a long time to finish a small batch of meat ( 2lbs). It's easy to wash but not easy to use. The area where the meat comes out is not 1 piece, it's a plastic separate piece that attaches to the housing. There is a gap inside and out that meat gets stuck into and is next to impossible to wash and will rot.

This worked but required a lot of effort. I think that will be true of any of the inexpensive straight push stuffers that don't have mechanical assistance. If possible I would recommend getting a manual screw driven or electric powered version... but if that's not in your budget, then this one can work.

I have been wanting to make homemade sausage for sometime and ordered this sausage stuffer to start learning. I really ordered this stuffer on a whim and did no research on it or on what is needed to make sausages. I don't have a meat grinder so for my first and only use of this stuffer so far, I had to by the meat already ground. The stuffer was easy to set up and get started. I don't know what's good or not at this point because I have never used a sausage stuffer before. I have nothing to compare this stuffer to. I will say it isn't the easiest stuffer to control. It would have neen nice if it came with some kind of mount to secure it to the counter. I didn't do a great job my first time using this stuffer, but it could have been worse. I did make quite a mess and this stuffer was easy to clean. I want to get a meat grinder before my second attempt at making sausage. Overall, this is a good inexpensive sausage stuffer for a complete novice like me. It works well and is easy to learn on.
