A great tool. Works well. Great value for the money.

I purchased this knowing the punch mechanism may be finicky but decided it was something I could live with. It does seem to work about 50% of the time, which is acceptable for a budget item. It's fine for the work I do & I can live with having to press 2-3 times to make a hole as I knew it was a budget item when I ordered it. If you want 100% reliability, I think you will need to look at products 2-3 times the price as I suspect this is as good as the budget ones get.I may try unscrewing it & changing the spring/modifying it to tune it up. I suspect that may well get it running better. I wouldn't rate this as bad, as you get what you pay for. Just be aware of what to expect.

Tried this on various metals and it only comes into its own on softer material, very handy when it works but barely scratches the surface of harder metals, steel etc.

After a bit of oiling it works every time.

This is a useful little tool which was a handy addition to the tool box. very cheap but it does the job.

I can at least now get holes in the right place with this Auto punch, it's ideal.
