Excellent Customer Service
I ordered these EL lights for a project for my Son. My initial impression was that these lights were not bright at all. During the day the light is very difficult to see. In the dark, however, the light is actually very nice. When I contacted the seller about the lights not being bright enough, they were very understanding and they worked with me to find an acceptable solution. Their excellent customer service paired with the lights appearance in darkness is why I am giving a 5 star review.

Worked perfect for what we needed
We needed these in a pinch when my son’s Halloween stick person costume stopped working right before Halloween. We replaced all the glow wire from the store-bought costume with this, and it worked perfectly—it was an exact fit and replacement. Halloween was saved!

Not Bright Enough
I really wanted to love this but it's just not bright enough. It is a simple neon wire strip with a battery pack. It is long enough to wrap quite a bit around an object. While it seems fairly bright in the dark, if there is any light around, the brightness fades and it is not very visible at all. Other than that, it worked well. Can't comment on longevity as I've only used it for about 32 hours total.

Good in the dark, not so much in the light
This is a neat concept, as an alternative to LEDs. I bought it to use in a Lego project. It looks good in the dark, but I wish it was a little brighter. In normal room lighting, it is really dim. The battery pack DOES make a slight feedback noise, when the item is on. Overall cool idea, it's just not quite there yet on brightness. At least its not expensive.

It works
Yes, buy it for your projects. AA batteries and you are good to go.

Halloween fail
HORRIBLE. Bought this for my daughter’s Halloween costume. It worked the day it arrived in the mail. Turned it on for Halloween about an hour before we were supposed to go out trick or treating. WOULDN’T TURN ON! We even took it apart to try to hot wire it ourselves as to not have Halloween ruined. So now I can’t even return this POC. Had to go buy breakable glow sticks to make her costume. Very disappointed. Don’t buy. Not reliable.

It Glows in the Dark!
These String Lights are Great! I used this to Modify my Traxxas SLEDGE R/C Truck to be easier to see at night. These lights provided a Tron Style look to my truck for cheap. Powered by 2 double A batteries they last a long time. Excellent Product!

One didn't light up and it's too small
Colors are nice and bright and I didn't hear any sound however I have to return it. Unfortunately I got a defective one and only 4 out of 5 light up. I tried switching them around and it wasn't the actual lights but one of the adapter connections that didn't work. Also it was a lot smaller than I thought. I wanted to make a stick figure costume for my son and I couldn't make just one work to be the full length my 12 year old son wanted. So only a 2 star since I have to return it.

These are OK and seem to work - not the brightest.
Nov 25, 2021------------------Just received the 5 strand to one inverter EL light set. I made sure to try it out to ensure that each of the strands work. Initially, only 4 of them lit up while one didn't. Others reported the same thing. Luckily, I spotted the pin issue at the connector right away. The pin on this one connector was actually sticking out of the connector at the top. So, I just pushed that pin back into the slot parallel to the other pin so that both pins can slide into its respective pin hole on the connector. Once I reconnected the wire, put in the batteries, and turned on the inverter again, all the strands were lighting up. So, for those who has dead strands on arrival, check the pins on the connectors.I also tested to see if the inverter will shut off on shock, which happened on two of my other inverters that pretty much look the same. Since I'm using this on my mountain bike, I don't want it to turn off when the inverter box hits a bump on the trail. For this test, I just simulate a shock to inverter box by hitting the box on my palm while it is turned on with batteries inside. Sure enough, the inverted turns off. The issues with the inverter will be simply fixed by doing the following (as I have done with one of them already):1) open up the box to expose the PCB board, switch, and transformer2) make sure the switch is tightly clipped at the bottom of the PCB board - there are 2 clips that protrude out of the holes. Push the metal clips so that they are bent tight against the board.3) wrap some 1/4" insulation foam around the switch - you may need some Kapton tape to secure the foam wrap. The wrap should fit snugly around the whole switch so that it does not move sideways. This is one of the issues because the switch itself is poorly made.4) Slide the assembly back together. This can be tricky if the insulation foam is thick and bulky but just make sure all the hole and battery plate alignments are in place and slip the bulging foam behind the walls of the container. Then screw back in the clip to secure the inverter assembly.5) Get a couple of then small nut (diameter the size of a AA battery or slightly smaller) that fit into each battery slot. What this will do is prevent the battery terminals from losing contact to each terminal during bumps. The springs are kind of weak. So, any shock to the case vertically along the battery means that one or both of the terminals will have gaps, thus turning off the lights. You need to wedge the nuts or a conductive plate so that the each battery is tight against the terminals. I also placed a couple of tire tube strips inside the battery compartment to make sure the batteries don't move when my bike rolls through really rough areas.I'll upload pictures later. I'll also update the review as necessary.

No Good
Does not turn on.. no matter how many connected with the 5 way splitter or a single directly to the battery. Push the on button, the light on the battery pack flashed and nothing. Multiple new battery sets to be sure
