Great-tasting vegan protein boost - just be sure to blend it!
I've just come here to buy my next pack of this and was really surprised to see a couple of other reviews saying that it tastes bad or chalky. I think it tastes absolutely great - I really look forward to having this after my workouts! That said - I've never followed the instructions on the back which just say to mix 1 scoop with 250 ml water. Instead, I blend together:1 banana1 scoop protein powder250 ml oat milkItās still relatively quick and easy to make and the flavour is yum, a really tasty chocolatey milkshake. Since adding this protein powder to my routine Iāve not had muscle soreness after my workouts, my fitness is increasing, and Iāve been able to increase the weights Iām lifting - I don't know that any of these things are linked to the extra protein in my diet, but I don't think it hurts.Edit: recently we had a go at just mixing the powder up with milk in a glass. It's pretty bad that way! Even using a whisk, it's very difficult to get all the powder to mix in so you end up with lots of spongy lumpy bits, giving the drink a really unpleasant texture. I wonder if this is why some other customers have been so disappointed? So my advice: always blend it!

Tastes like chocolate peanut m&m's š
I liked this because it was vegan pea protein based, not whey. Naturally sweetened with Stevia (it's very sweet) and not artificial sweeteners which obviously defeats the object of trying to be healthy! I didn't mix mine with water, but Oat milk. You could use any non dairy alternative, but the key is to mix it well. I placed about 2 inches of milk in a glass then added my scoop ofprotein powder. I used a metal coiled whisk to thoroughly mix the powder into the milk. You have to create a thick paste texture, similar to a rue, like when you make any homemade sauce. Gradually add the rest of the milk to the mix stirring continually making sure all the powder and lumps have dispersed. It takes under a minuteto mix well, but is worth the small effort to get it into a smooth contistency. Only then does the taste and texture resemble a proper milkshake. If you like chocolate peanut m&m's, then you'll love this! I consume it straight after a workout, it gives me something to look forward to during all of that hard graft!

Better tasting alternatives
Iām not vegan, but the whey based alternatives turn my stomach in to a gurgling gas machine! My go to for protein is normally SCI-MX Vegan protein - it tastes great and has more protein per serving than this. However I decided to take a break from it and try something different. With SCI-MX you just add water.......you absolutely cannot do that with this.It made me feel sick to drink it. But before throwing it out I tried it with Almond milk - that makes it palatable, but still not very nice at all.It tastes like raw unsalted peanuts - in a thin liquid form. Yuk. It has really put me off peanuts. Iāve ordered my old faithful again and will try to intersperse them...

It works. But it tastes like dust
I got this powder as I had tried various whey products and these would all give me crazy cramps. Turns out i'm lactose intolerant.Been using this vegan alternative for a while now and no side effects like those from the whey so thumbs up there! However, i cannot state enough how incredibly bad this stuff tastes. even mixed with copious amounts of water there is somehow a thick dusty aftertaste. I've tried mixing in bananas, apples, oats .etc but nothing can mask the horrible mouth feel of this stuff and the strawberry flavour is pretty non-existent.Good product in that it wont make you crampy (or gassy for that matter) like whey. But horrible horrible flavour.

Does the job perfectly. But tastes vile.
I bought this product to help me top up my daily protein (as a rather lazy vegan it looked ideal). I also bought the mixer cup too.The powder mixed easily into the water by being shook in the cup. Nice milkshake consistency. Not lumpy. But oh... the taste. At first I wondered if it was off, but checking the reviews here I think it must just taste horrible. It tastes like the smell of old socks (if that makes sense) with a hint of dust, and a bit of nesquick sprinkled on top. Absolutely vile. Thank god each portion is only 250ml so easily gulped down.Other than the taste, it is excellent.

Why is everyone complaining!
So I wasnāt expecting the best things after reading everyoneās reviews about the taste etc, However I had my first shake this morning with 250 mil of out milk and a banana. I can honestly say It tastes similar to when I used to drink the chocolate slimfast, but now wanting to avoid dairy Iām trying this! It definitely isnāt the most delicious thing Iāve ever had but for a vegan powder it is pretty damn good! Defo a undertone of plantyness but I really donāt dislike it :)

Tasted like vomit and didn't mix well
Absolutely disgusting. When you open the pouch it smells like a lawn. I pushed past it and blended with banana and ice and water. It doesn't blend well and remains lumpy. Tasted it and it was just horrific. Hard to describe but it's like PB and chocolate mixed with sick. And the flavour develops in your mouth to get worse and then you're left with an awful aftertaste. My partner tried it and he was like it's not that bad, oh wait no that's awful, eugh that's gross. As it kept getting worse. Gutted I wasted a tenner on this pouch. No need for vegan protein to taste like dirt. Many other brands succeed in making great vegan protein that doesn't taste like vomit.

It's good for what it does but obvs it tastes like Pea protein.
Again like a previous reviewer I did not make this as per instructions on the pack. I blended it with a banana, a tablespoon of flaxseed sunflower etc mix, chia seeds and oat milk. Makes it much more substantial and delicious to drink. Once you've finished drinking it you are left with the taste of pea protein in your mouth. Makes a decent second breakfast.
