35385 Automatic Wire Stripper, 3" , Blue

I've bought a number of draper tools before and have always been pleased with the quality. At these prices, i would imagine they might not stand up to a full day's work, but for the home DIY enthusiast I think they represent an excellent purchase. As wire strippers, these are incredibly easy to use and strip to a pre-determined length quickly and with very little effort. They feel well made and have a good clean action. I have only used them a few times to test, so I can't comment on their longevity, just yet. As a crimping tool, they are pretty basic - crush it into submission. As I am working on a car restoration project, crimping connectors is never-ending task, so I have order a separate (more specialist) tool for doing this. Don't get me wrong, the crimping on this is adequate for minimal use, but I feel a specialist tool would be more appropriate for the volume of work I will be doing.

Review for: Draper 35385 Automatic Wire Stripper, 3" £20.04 in May 2021 This is a good quality product and very capable. There are many variations of this design from the 'random name' brands - avoid them all. I've used these in an industrial job and they've proven themselves very reliable. If the Draper version is £5 more than the silly name one, get the Draper one. There's subtle differences in design but also in quality and durability. I'm not a fan of Draper really, some of their products don't meet my qaulity expectations, but these wire strippers do and I highly recommend them. Some of you may need a different 'method' of wire stripping. These grip and stretch the insulation until it tears, which works fine for my uses but may not suit certain applications. Stick within the wire and crimping specifications and it'll be fine. Still comfortable even without 'soft grip handles', and less likely to trap dirt.

This wire stripper works as expected. I've used intensively for a few days as I was re-doing the electricity wiring, in a couple of rooms, at home. Probably it is not a perfect fit for professional use but for working at home it's a very good tool. I'm quite satisfied.

These cable strippers are brilliant, I'd always been a little wary about buying a pair in the past thinking they were a bit gimmicky. . . how wrong was I, jeez they make life so much easier and work straight out of the pack! I've used them on all kinds of cable from tri rated auto cabling, flat T&E and various types of round flex - one pass to remove outer sheath and another to remove the inner at desired length, so simple, I really wish I'd bought a pair years ago, they save so much time!

Bought those ones you’ve seen on Amazon for £11. You know the ones, they all look similar and have good reviews, but have all got different names but are basically exactly the same tool. Well, they were a shower of.... and made a ball ache of stripping wires from the off! Failed on the first wire then, failed to start returning to starting point unless you squeezed the handles together! NOW these Draper ones are fantastic! Great working mechanism, strip and cut wires beautifully. Get these, you will not be disappointed on paying twice as much! Adage old saying, buy cheap, buy twice!

I liked this product. Worked well stripping wires of various diameters. Good adjustment. Made to job so easy.

I am no longer able to use this stripper where I work. Instead of leaving a clamp mark like other strippers, this one slightly nicks the insulation due to the grabbing action it makes and QC quietly told me they are not happy with it because if viewed with infrared, a hot mark might show where the insulation is damaged. Otherwise it is a strong stripper, easy to use and works well even on 6mm cable which most strippers feel like they will fall apart if used at max capacity.

Great for when you have many wires to strip. Also strips outer insulation from multicore cables. Only issue is that the stripped insulation often gets stuck, and needs to be removed before the next strip. I used it for rewiring my classic bikes, and replacing halogen power supplies with LED power supplies. Much easier than alternatives

Die Zange kann fast jede art von Elektroleitungen abisolieren und Aderendhülsen krimpen. Es ist fast nur aus Metall gemacht: es ist sehr solide.

Pelacables muy bueno en relación calidad-precio. Realiza su tarea bastante bien, y es preciso y robusto. Como crimpadora no lo he usado. Lo recomiendo 100%.

Dovevo spelare dei fili per HI-END, mi serviva quindi la massima precisione senza intaccare minimamente i fili in rame. Con le pinze molto economiche che avevo stavo deturpando il preziosissimo cavo, ho così sospeso il lavoro e ordinato questa spela fili. Taglio precisissimo e senza incertezze, puoi spelare sia fili sottili con guaina dura che cavi più grossi con guaina morbida, non intacca minimamente i fili di rame all'interno. L'unica regolazione che si deve fare è relativa alla "morsa" con cui la pinza deve tenere il cavo non spelato, da stringere al massimo (o quasi) se il filo è sottile, da allentare se più grosso e morbido in quanto se anche in questo caso fosse stretto al massimo lascerebbe dei segni della morsa sulla guaina. Oltre alla perfetta funzionalità nello spelare i fili, il materiale di costruzione e l'assemblaggio è davvero ottimo senza alcuna incertezza.

En mi opinión funciona genial y por el precio que tiene merece la pena probarla. Al principio parece una herramienta un poco aparatosa para pelar cables pero una vez que empiezas a usarla y ves como deja los cables se hace casi imprescindible sobre todo si tienes que pelar gran cantidad... Lleva un tope para dejar los cables pelados siempre a la misma distancia. También se pueden crimpar varios tipos de conectores faston.

Buona, pratica, ben realizzata, robusta, ben funzionante. Ottima per il fai da te di casa.
