PowerSmart Portable Bandsaw, 10 Amp 5 Inch Deep Cut Band Saw for Cutting Metal, Woodworking, with Removable Base & Variable Speed & Saw Blade

I was reluctant to buy this saw. However I went ahead anyway because I wanted a small portable band saw. I will probably always use it as a bench top. I was pleasantly surprised. The saw is sturdy and light. I do hobby welding and fabricating as a retiree. Blade is satisfactory so far on .090 1 in square tube. I like the low noise and reduced mess compared to my metal cutting chop saw. Vertical cuts are close enough to 90 and I can get fairly accurate miter cuts. Nothing I can’t fix in a corner clamp before welding. I checked the motor amps with a clamp meter. 5.6 amps, not even close to the advertised 10 amps as I had expected. Still the saw has not bogged. I let the weight of the saw carry the blade through the material. Great saw for my purposes. Even has exceeded my expectations. I have purchased some Lennox blades.

I ordered this saw to complete a greenhouse modification project. It showed up just in time and has been great! I'm generally a Milwaukee or Makita buyer so I know what a good quality tool feels like. This saw does not disappoint! It comes completely assembled except for the blade which is included. The blade mounts without tools! It super quick/easy to install and required no adjustments right out of the box. I used it to cut aluminum angle and flat stock. It cut like a hot knife through butter. Aluminum can be twitchy. Sometimes it gums up on your blade. I had no problems with this one. The adjustable speed dial is way better than changing pulleys on a cheap horizontal/vertical bandsaw like you might compare this to. I have a Makita chop saw that I've used for several years. This is my new favorite. I got beautiful, clean cuts with no smearing or jagged edges like I sometimes get with my chop saw. This saw is easily portable to go to the job site but cuts with great precision. I should have ordered one of these years ago!

The media could not be loaded. The bandsaw was sturdy and easy to set up. Unfortunately the vice platform was sloped toward the saw blade and made the cut off by over 0.10” from top to bottom of cut. See attached video showing blade path against a square piece of steel. Over a 3 week period I send 3 emails, called over a dozen times and sent messages through their Facebook messenger page. The only response I ever got was through messenger and the responses were “canned” vague responses that did not address my concern. All I wanted was for them to replace the vice. I added a .05” shim under one side of the vice and the cut improved but was still slightly off. I lost confidence these folks would respond before my return window closed in a couple days so I returned today and purchased a different brand

Purchased to cut various materials. I tried to cut solid metal, metal tubing and plastic tubing. the saw doesn't cut straight. I noticed the clearance between the sets of guide wheels weren't the same and one guide wheel wasn't rotating correctly. I have sent emails and tried to call several times. They have two different contact numbers, and no one answer. They even have a choice for Amazon customers. I don't understand why PowerSmart put a 2-year warranty on the saw when they have no intention on honoring it!!! This is false advertising! You can't even try to register it because the only option is to call. The best part of this is you have to save the original box to return the saw in for warranty purposes or it voids the warrenty. The BBB has given PowerSmart a F rating. I strongly recommend purchasing another brand of saw.

I use this portable bandsaw approximately 2 days out of the week or more to cut rebar, angle iron, and square tubing. The main thing that sold me on this bandsaw was its compact,portable, and it comes with a removable base. I also wanted to limit the amount of sparks because previously I was either using a cordless grinder with cut off wheel, or metal blade on a saw. Both of those create way too many sparks which many customers don't like. This tool has become such a time saver and great addition whether I'm building a steel fence or building a small concrete pad.

This allows you to cut pipe or angle iron with ease. You can cut angles and it is very effortless. Putting it together was very straight forward and putting the blade on was a snap.it went through the angle iron with ease. Just don't use oil to lubricate the saw blade as it will start to slip. The power is pretty good and I like that the saw blade doesn't go fast but cuts perfectly.I have been playing with this cutting all kinds of metal and pipe and so far no issues.very pleased with his especially for the price point.

Lots of power. Well built. Refined design. Include the base as it's well worth it.Lub cuts bar stock like a champ. Increases material options by delivering a precision rough cut.Readily available standard blade.
