![Disney's Brother Bear [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51256EzUSEL.jpg)

Product Description In this Disney-animated, coming-of-age story, Kenai (voiced by Joaquin Pheonix) is an impulsive young Native-American boy who is magically transformed into a bear by his brother when their father is killed by a mother bear protecting her cubs. Forced to see the world through a bear's eyes, Kenai sets out on a quest to find the mountain where the light touches the earth and regain his human form; and learns alot about compassion on his journey. desertcart.co.uk Review Disney's Brother Bear boasts a dramatic story--after he kills a bear, a young hunter named Kenai (voiced by Joaquin Phoenix) in prehistoric North America is turned into a bear himself and hunted by his own brother--but the animated movie's tone is more earnest and warm than tragic, focusing on the unfolding relationship between Kenai and an orphaned bear cub named Koda (voiced by Jeremy Suarez). However, it's often the comic supporting characters that prove the most popular, and a pair of moose voiced by Rick Moranis and Doug Thomas will win many fans. The songs by Phil Collins are typically negligible, but the hand-drawn animation is lush (occasional flashes of computer-generated animation clash with the movie's overall look). Kids will also enjoy the mammoths; but no sabre-toothed tigers, unfortunately.--Bret Fetzer Review: Beautiful story of a bear family and a human family and how they ineract. - Some films are so popular and they are shown everywhere, and when they come on the TV I see them by accident and find them formulaic, with stock characters, poor animation and sketchy backgrounds, made quickly and cheaply but was it worth the effort, really?. Yet there are other films that are beautiful, with lovely unusual stories, and you have never heard of them. Brother Bear is one of the latter, brilliant but I have never seen it advertised. The visual art is in the style of the Canadian 'Group of seven', the story is entertaining, and there are strong female characters. I can't recommend it more highly, it's for all the family. BTW 'Balto' is another film that is underrated. Review: MOST IMPRESSIVE VISUALS, STUNNING ON PS3. - Wow.. looks great on my ps3. Recently bought about 12 disney movies for my little girl and i think this definately looked the best. Anamation crisp, bright and colourful. Story didnt grab me at the begining but unfolded slowly into a very good movie with laughs coming mainly from the two dopey moose.(Rick Morranis). And then a few tears as some parts are quite sad. Another excellent Disney film. Also i watched TARZAN. Didnt like it when it first came out. Now i think its fantastic...! Still dont like pochahontas though.

My 2 Year Old's Favourite
I took my then 21 month old daughter to see this film. She didn't last twenty minutes in Nemo (and has, at 25 months, yet to sit through the whole DVD) but she LOVED Brother Bear. I think it was the 'realness' of the animals (which, like in Lion King, move like the real species) combined with action right from the beginning. There's also a wonderful sense of place and being outdoors - you can almost smell the pine trees. She loved the story of a boy who turns into a bear and back and back again. Every time we passed the cinema, she dragged me back to the poster and when my U.S.-based mother brought her a Brother Bear book, she adored it. Daddy and I liked the film, too. I've never been a Phil Collins fan, but 'On My Way' was a good tune and the story was very strong and very well animated. I especially like how the film introduces very young children to another culture and way of looking at the world (without the preachiness of Pocohontas). I'm looking forward to seeing it two or three hundred times in the next months!

I'd like to return the two (2) DVD that were sent to me. Both received had a prompt that said not authorized to play in my region. (I am still awaiting to hear back what country so that the return address is complete & the P.O. will accept) I send these DVD movies to my grand daughter who lives w/her Spanish speaking grandparents, along w/young cousins. The seller wanted to send me a web link, if I recall correctly, that would instruct on how to get the DVD to play. If I was unable/unwilling to do so, I certainly wasn't going to inflict what should be a gift to kids. I still do not see that my account has been credited back. Regretfully, I feel sour about the experience. Mrs. B
