Ideal for Lollipop Tree Craft Project
We purchased these polystyrene balls to make lollipop trees for my sons teachers for Christmas. They are 14.8 cm in diameter (I have a calliper and checked as I was worried the measurement would be the circumference, but there was no indication when I purchased what the dimension was) Mine was slightly less than the 14.8 but it come wrapped in a hard plastic wrap, which i think tightens everything together a little. We used the vidal tongue painter pack of 150 lollipops found on amazon to make the "flower" effect. We used 75 lollipops on each and it did a little more than half of the ball, which was what we wanted as the bottom half was sitting inside of a flower pot. It worked really well and was really good value for what we were using them for. I think it would be ideal for other similar craft projects - and I see other reviewers are using it to make planets for school, which I agree it would work well for, but is large, so bear in mind perspective if this is what you are using it for. I would say it is a little larger than a softball ball, so if its one planet on its own, its not really an issue, but if doing along with other planets for a school project its wouldn't be ideal as Pluto for example .

Jumbo polystyrene ball anyone?
Being honest when I was ordering I thought these were the size of average Christmas baubles as that's what I wanted them for. They had on same page multi packs with a confusing array of sizes so needless to say I felt a bit like a ham when only ONE ball arrived & its the size of a jumbo tennis ball or a small beach ball. I'll be just buying these type things in local craft shop from now on so I can see what I am getting lol. I accept responsibilty of being a ham on this one! Stay safe. Andi xx

Perfect!
I finally found the right sized ball to complete my project. I'm delighted with it. Was able to stuff the lights inside and poke a hole at the top to the adjoining ball. The thickness is right, so no crumbling but allows the light through. Just love it!

Did the job!
Exactly what I needed to demonstrate the phases of the Moon to my class. It’s a good size and worked well to be pierced with a wooden dowel to demonstrate the Moon’s movements. A diverse item with many uses I imagine!
