Q: how heavy is the material? what tog is it?

It's very light jersey stretch material, like a light t-shirt, so doesn't have a tog rating. Our boy's bedroom is between 18-20 degrees and we have him in the saddle with 3 layers of cellular blanket.

Q: Any one with experience with a swaddle and a baby who sleeps on their front?

It’s good for their front and their back, but you can’t put them on their sides because their arms are up by their shoulders. We have an escape artist that gets his arms out by his face so we have taken to swaddling him in a blanket and then we put this wrap over it like a sleeping bag. It was great on its own when he was younger but he’s nearly 9 months so he can get out of it now. Hope this helps!
