Hammer smash things good
Real good lump hammer lovely handle excellent for replacing wheel studs and spanking flogging spanners. Cheap for what it is. No risk of handle breaking like a wooden one

Quality lump hammer
After years of working on site with old fashioned hickory handled lump hammers, I thought I'd treat myself to this beast. Actually on first appearance it struck me just how small the head is and how light it felt in comparison to my usual lump hammer of choice, which is is only 1lb heavier at 4lb - no doubt its weighted better hence it feeling so much lighter, especially when striking something, so that's good. Plus no more calluses with that comfortable rubber handle so another positive. The main thing that bugged me about my old hickory hammer was the continuous need to reinstate the ever loosening head on the wooden shaft. This new hammer looks like it will outlast all my tools, and probably me and I'm not that old! At £22 its not cheap, but if it makes my life just a little bit easier, its well worth it. So, to sum up, a nicely weighted indestructable (virtually) lump hammer

Top quality hammer.
Its heavy. Its does the job well. As the shaft tapers and is metal, if you miss the target you dont split the shaft if its wood, or chip it if its FG. We have driven 1000's of steel spikes into the ground with this for a fencing job and its well balanced and just like new after weeks of industrial use. We also use the smaller ones in the range. All are spot on.

I have used cheaper Lump / Club hammers in the past and usually the grip is very poor or the vibration when you strike a chisel
I bought this to use with the Stanley 418329 FatMax Concrete Chisel to beak up a large concrete centre of a gate post. I have used cheaper Lump / Club hammers in the past and usually the grip is very poor or the vibration when you strike a chisel is passed through to your arms... neither happens with this hammer. It is heavy (but that is the point of club hammers isn't it ?) but having said that it was the perfect companion for the chisel and it made the job a lot easier using these quality tools, almost a real pleasure, if it wasn't for the hard work ! As per usual with Stanley tools, they will never disappoint in any way and will last for years !

Decent Quality But Rather Expensive
It's a 3-pound lump hammer, it does its job hammering stuff... I'm not sure what the Anti-Vibe claim is about. it seems to return as much shock back to the arm as any other hammer. Yeah it's decent quality, and being one piece, I suppose there's the peace of mind that the hammer and handle won't come apart... but I'm not sure it's worth the premium, I think there's cheaper brands with similar design much cheaper.

Let's get hammered
As far as hammers go, this a goodun. The antivibe handle seems to work well. Not really noticeable when your hitting things but after an hour of so belting a bolser chisel, my chisel hand was tingling and my hammer hand wasn't so scientific reasoning tells me that the antivibe works. Not too heavy, not too light. Comfy to hold and hit hings with. And let's be honest, who doesn't like hitting things.

Thor's hammer for the layman
As with the other Stanley Fat Max products it's really well made and aesthetically pleasing as far as hammers go. I used mine for breaking apart the concrete base of a fireplace, initially I used a bolster as well but soon learnt that the hammer didn't need help - it could ride solo on this one. The anti-vibe worked wonders, I was hammering for quite some time and came away feeling fresh and renewed rather than trembling like I'd kicked a habit. When compared against Thor's actual hammer it does fall short - It doesn't return to you once thrown (tested) but I imagine it would be helpful against other-worldly invaders (untested). Your mileage may vary.
