LanskySharpeners Outdoor Curved Blade Hone available in Yellow

Having built straight knives for a number of years, I decided to make a curved one. In order to sharpen it, I bought this set - been a fan of Lansky straight sharpening stones.WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!!!Coarse and medium stones were OK. But the fine (HR600) disappeared in a cloud of dust the first time, I used it... Well, a lot of it did. I mean... It felt more like a piece of chalk than a sharpening stone.I've been told, that I build awesome knives for outdoor use. But really? Are they so tough, they will eat up the sharpening stones? I think not.Now, I will practice using a sharpening wheel instead.

They work incredibly well, though they do have limitations when dealing with certain blade profiles.Otherwise they are worth the cost and their limitations are fairly easily worked around. Easy to recommend the system as a whole.

Wouldn't recommend. The course and medium stones do the job but the fine stone is awful, instead of sharpening it dissolves and shreds itself on the blade. It feels like it's made out of chalk and it might as well be

Different material and style of sharpening. Takes practice and worth a little time. But very worth it.

Before you buy remember this the 600 and 1000 grit stones need to be used like a strop
