The best value correct sized hamster wheel
All hamsters should have an upright wheel that’s big enough for them to run in without bending their spine at all. These 28cm wheels are great for all specious of hamsters (though some smaller robo’s or dwarf hamsters could also have 20cm wheels if they’re spins don’t bend in them). These wheels are the perfect size and are the cheapest correct sized wheel out there. I have two of these wheels right now (each for a Russian dwarf) and they get on really well with them. I have found that I needed to replace one after 7 months and they don’t seem to be the best quality wheels (I also have a wooden Trixie wheel which seems sturdier) but for the price I think they’re great. The wheels come with minimal packaging which is great and is ready to go as soon as you get it (unlike the wooden wheels that need treating first). They’re made from thin plastic but are attached to a solid metal stand. Though the stand has a little bit of weight to it the wheel is really light and it spins really easily, meaning even my tiny Russian dwarfs can run on it with out any issues. The wheels can remain on the stand inside the cages and I’ve never had one fall over. They’re really sturdy even when being run in. I do know people who have taken them off the stand and attached them to the bars but I’ve not done that myself and I think it’s quite a tight fit between the bars, and it hard to pull the wheel off the stand in the first place. When they spin they’re very very quiet and I can barely hear my babies in them. They don’t seem to last as long as some other wheels though. Currently I have one of these wheels that has been absolutely fine but I’ve just had to buy a new one after 7 months because my other wheel became loose on the axis and started hitting against the metal stand. I did still spin but became noisy and a little stiffer than I liked. Though I know they’re not as good quality I still chose to get another plastic Trixie wheel because my girls like to wee in their wheels and these are just so easy to clean compared to the wooden ones. They’re also a lot cheaper so I’m happier to replace them. Overall I’m still extremely pleased with these wheels. If you’re on a budget or don’t want to faff around with a wooden wheel I’d definitely recommend this wheel.

The Best buy for our Syrian hamster.
We have a male Syrian hamster who like most hamsters really enjoys running on an wheel. It’s a great form of exercise for them (they’d naturally run the equivalent of 8 miles per night in the wild!) plus a boredom buster. Our boy had outgrown his flying saucer and his previous wheel, and knowing full well how a too small wheel can cause back problems for them due to having to arch to run on them I was quick to upgrade him. I’m so glad I went for the Trixie wheel, as not only is it absolutely perfect for him in terms of size but it’s sooooo quiet too! I actually can’t believe that for once we truly can’t hear him when he’s running on a wheel. It’s amazing! It’s fairly sturdy and hasn’t fallen over/toppled even with him vigorously running on it, yet is easily moveable when you actually want to as it’s a freestanding wheel that doesn’t require attaching to the cage bars. I’ve found it easy enough to clean (always make sure to use pet safe disinfectant folks!) and whilst it can be taken apart it’s also to put back together again. All in all the best hamster wheel we’ve purchased and the hamster would agree too!

Great wheel but not for small cages
I bought this wheel for my Syrian hamster as he'd outgrown his flying saucer and he absolutely loves it! He spends hours on it and it's large enough for him not to have to arch his back. It's very definitely a large wheel, bigger than I'd imagined, so not one for small cages and probably too big for hamsters smaller than Syrians. As my hammy lives in an extra large cage (Savic Plaza) I didn't have a problem getting it in. The wheel is very sturdy and quite quiet with the option of either keeping it on the stand or fixing to the cage. Only makes a knocking sound when hammy is running at full pelt and the wheel vibrates against the stand but even then I can't hear it from my bedroom. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that though the stand sits on wood shavings, it slides around the cage when in use as the cage floor is smooth (had the same problem with his saucer). Tried fixing it to the side of the cage but, after a lot of effort getting the stand off, found that the locking piece wouldn't fit all the way through the bars so back on the stand it is. I've now put it at an angle so hopefully that should solve the problem. Apart from that, I've got one very happy hamster so I'm happy too, great purchase!

Hammy runs miles at night on this and as it is large it protects his back. I had to take a level out of cage so it would fit but so worth it. No problems, had it for months now.

Huge wheel, my little mouse colony enjoys it. Not the best wheel I’ve had but does the job and is affordable and a good size
