It does but as soon as you pull it, it breaks

It is waterproof in the sense that it doesn’t dissolve when it rains. As for keeping the BBQ dry, it doesn’t work at all. You would be better off leaving the BBQ uncovered. At least the water won’t become trapped under the cover and stay wet for longer.
