Brilliant rice cooker. I had one similar to this for many years but it had started to split at the sides so was time to get a new one. I looked for a long time, in shops and on line, but couldn't find one that had the interior basket. I was delighted to finally see this Joseph Joseph Rice Cooker. The rice comes out perfectly, there is a small measuring jug to weight the amount of rice, (on one side of the jug in cups) and the water (on the other side of the jug in ml ) A rice paddle is also included, this is so handy for stirring rice and serving it out. But the best thing is that the paddle is also used as the handle for lifting into and out of the microwave, it sits into grooves on each side of the cooker, just make sure you don't cover the vent holes with the paddle as steam can't escape (this is explained in the leaflet included). The cooker does get hot while in the microwave, much the same as other pot/bowl you use in a microwave but you are able to lift it by each end of the paddle using oven gloves or tea towel etc. The inner basket has it's own handle attached and is easy to lift straight out of the cooker. The only negative I found was the timings in the leaflet, I have had to use more water and extend the cooking time as the timings provided didn't cook the rice, it's trial and error and personal preference really. Once rice is done, stir with paddle and lift basket containing rice out of cooker, any water remaining is left in the cooker. I am very pleased with the rice cooker and also purchased on for my daughter. Leaflet states you can cook Oats, Quinoa etc. I cannot comment as I haven't tried this yet. I was pleasantly surprised by this rice/grain cooker. I bought it to save me having to drag out my heavy Instant Pot every time I wanted to cook rice (also to save on the washing up), but I also wanted to stop buying rice in a plastic pouch that you microwave for two minutes. I cooked jasmine rice in it last night and it turned out perfect and nice and fluffy. Also kept the rice nice and warm when going back for seconds. Easy to use and easy to clean. Rice basket comes with a handle and also a measuring cup. The only negative is text for instructions could have been a bit bigger and the cup would have been better with black text (very difficult to see). Can highly recommend this product.

Nicely designed and works well. Better than the 'RiceBoy' I had previously -- but so it should be as it's twice as expensive! One thing I don't like is the removable plastic rice basket that comes with it. The holes are just the right size to catch several grains of rice each time you use it -- and, as the rice cooks, the trapped grains expand... (need I say more?) So I need hardly say that I don't use it! (But it's completely uneccessay, anyway.) That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars, not 5 -- which I would have done otherwise. After all, why pay for a basket that's just a bloody nuisance?

I bought the Joseph Joseph rice cooker on a bit of a whim and I’ve been genuinely surprised by how good it is. I can now cook perfect rice in the microwave instead of standing over the hob, watching it like a hawk and still sometimes burning it or guessing the measurements! It’s so simple to use, the measurements are clear, and the rice comes out fluffy every time. No sticking, no mess, and no stress. It’s honestly taken the guesswork out of cooking rice altogether. If, like me, you’ve struggled to get rice just right or want an easier option than the hob, I’d definitely recommend this. Such a handy little kitchen addition.

Very convenient way to make rice as you just put it in the microwave, set the timer and then forget about it until it beeps. I was looking for an electronic countertop rice cooker but when I saw this I thought I'd give it a try and it's great. The design is excellent, built in strainer for washing the raw rice, the spoon triples as a closure mechanism and handles, the rice cooks perfectly using the absorption method, the inner pot is slightly raised inside the outer so any excess water doesn't make the bottom layer of rice soggy. The pot looks good enough to have at the table so the family can help themselves. A rice/water measure is included and a guide to types of rice, proportions of rice/water and timings to use. I will never cook rice on the stove top again. Bits of rice do get stuck in the little holes of the inner container but it comes out in the dishwasher, or you can shake the bits out once dried. Or poke with a wooden skewer but not worth the hassle of doing that in my opinion! This minor inconvenience is more than made up for by the overall convenience and good design.

Great but if kit, stops my microwave getting steamed up the too much. Easy to clean and everything fits inside for easy storage.

I replaced a rice cooker I had for over 10 years, that worked great until it cracked. After trying a different brand that overflowed into my Microwave and made a mess, I tried the Joseph Joseph rice cooker. It worked perfectly. I followed the directions included, adjusted to my Microwave's wattage and perfect rice. Also really easy to clean. I recommend this product.

Great rice cooker that can be used for vegetables as well. Comes out perfect every time provided you follow the instructions and don't overcook. Put off buying a new microwave rice cooker for so long having owned a cheap basic one for so long that just did the job so well for so long. It eventually gave up the ghost so I gave in and bought this one and so glad I did. Nothing too fancy and gets the job done.
