Impressive Mouldable Putty
I have to say, this exceeded my expectations, I have used it on my car to repair a small hole in a panel after MOT failure, can be sanded and overpainted. Also used on a number of other repairs for chipped/broken items, patch jobs not just car repairs., Used on a laptop body repair and fill where a peice of the shell broke away, just cut a bit off the log, sqwish it about to mix it together, and then mould it into the item/shape you desire. Leave for 10 mins to harden into shape. (Takes longer to fully cure). Would buy again without problem.

Great product
Works great. Hardens in a few hours and is very strong. Easy to use but does leave hands smelling bad. Looks fine once hardened. I have used this to repair and reinforce some cables the end of which were loose and it has worked perfectly

Really effective metal compound
Comes in a tube as shown, you open it up and slide it out the plastic tube cover. It is wrapped in a film, but keep that on and just peel it back to reveal the amount you need to cut off. The two compounds and rolled like a rolly-polly pudding, dark compound in the centre with the second mixing compound on the outside. Chop a small piece off which a sharp Stanley or similar and crush and mix together on disposable hard surface (hard card or plastic), keep chopping, crushing and turning the two compounds into each other until the colour turns a graphite grey colour. Apply to your subject and mould to shape or fill the gap or whatever your using it for. I used it for sticking my car aerial back into its roof mount. My car has a radio and sat nav mount built into the roof which are no longer made. The aerial rotted away so I bought a replacement aerial and had to stick it back into the mount as the screw in thread had deteriorated. I drilled a hole and metal compounded the aerial in. Perfect for holding under wind pressure etc. I used it to glue an earpiece of a set of headphones back in too. Great stuff! My only complaint is it can be a little too dry but its better than too sloppy! Hardens very well, pretty quickly too, couple of hours depending on temps, can be sanded down etc.

Good product but does NOT go steel hard
This stuff is really useful as a strong, robust filler. If you rub a wet finger over as a final 'finish' it goes quite smooth. It then sets fairly hard, perhaps like un-fired clay, but nowhere near as hard as steel. The packet claims "steel hard in 10 minutes": that is simply ludicrous and just NOT true. It does get harder with time but nowhere near the hardness of steel. It's a plastic putty ... how could it?? One thing I've used it for very successfully is repairing chipped plates and mugs. OK, it's very dark grey so it's rather conspicuous on white china but if you're OK with that then you can easily mould it to the edges of these items to create a smooth, hard, filled repair. If it's applied to exposed, unglazed ceramic it sticks really well and greatly improves the appearance and feel of damaged mugs and plates. This probably won't meet health & safety legislation but it's fine (and also OK in the microwave). In summary, it's a fairly strong and robust 'sticky' filler for all kinds of surfaces including wood, metal, ceramic and hard non-flexible plastic. which can easily be given a smooth finish. Worth having some in the house or workshop for when inevitable problems occur.

it may be "normal" for this product but without opening it, it went hard and could not be used.

Fantastic, saved me a pretty ยฃ400...
The heat exchanger on our boiler developed a small leak between Christmas and New Year (great timing!), just outside of the warranty period and Vaillant wanted just shy of ยฃ400 to send an engineer and replace and wouldnt get to us for a week. Thought I would give this a go first, even if it was just a temporary fix and helped us get back up and running to get some warmth and it worked perfectly. Cleaned the area up with a wire brush, ensured it was dry, applied the putty, ran a small wooden wallpaper roller back and forth to ensure good adhesion, and left it for an hour. Fired up the boiler and allowed to warm slightly, and switched off again, half hour later fired the boiler up again and not a bit of water in sight. Still perfect after 2 months and I suspect it will be for the rest of its life. There are lots of uses for this putty so it will definetely be an item I have around in case of emergencies, and I have to say, it does exactly what it says on the tin, and it certainly goes rock hard, fantastic bit of stuff!

A must have tube in your toolbox !
We had a problem with the grill door on our caravan oven. They use round "rivnuts" in a thin sheet steel oven casing. The screws worked themselves loose on the grill door hinge. I went to tighten them up, but the screws just kept spinning. Round Rivnut is just spinning in the round hole, meaning the screws holding the hinge wouldn't tighten up. Potentially an "oven out" job to remove and replace the failed rivnuts. This meant disconnecting gas pipes etc - not a job I really wanted to do. Looked at a Rivnut puller, but potentially it was still an oven out job due to access. Done some research and settled on this metal putty from Evo Stick. You cut a strip off and mix it up. Its sort of dark and light grey as it comes, and the idea is you knead it until its all one colour. TOP TIP - the putty has a clear film around it, ensure you also remove this before you start kneading. I missed it, and it meant the putty had stringy parts inside it. Once mixed, I put a small amount on the back side of each of the rivnuts, gaining access with my finger through the square hole - photo 1. Prior to applying, I cleaned the area with IPA to remove any grease etc from the area. I squished as much of this stuff as I could over / around the back of these fixings, and left it to cure for a day. Upon my return, and a quick poke through the holes, I could feel it was rock hard. Re-inserted the 4 screws, managed to tighten them up meaning job done ! Stuff is great. Saved me a load of hassle. This was done back in September, door is still in place :) Worked form me and holds a worthy place in my toolbox. Cheers
