Belmio 50 Nespresso® Aluminium Compatible Coffee Capsules Pods – A Taste Of Premium Luxury Coffee (Discovery Box)

I have a Nespresso Lattismia,and these capsules work perfectly - no problems. The box has a range of different strengths of coffee, and flavours, which I like, as at different parts of the day, I can have different types of coffee, and they are all high quality. Friends and family have also tried this coffee and all love it - and they all enjoy trying out the different flavours. It is beautifully and elegantly presented in 5 sleeves, and given that I have a fair few dinner parties, good presentation goes a long way. Given their popularity, I will need to order another box.

These are a premium luxury alternative to Nespresso. I was amazed by the quality of these and how good they taste. My Nespresso is made by magimix and the capsules fit perfectly. I've found some of the alternatives in the past pretty rubbish when it comes to fit and ejection. I particularly like the Risoluto variety. I have seen comments from other reviewers that these are much more expensive than Nespresso - however, at the time of leaving a review, Belmio were selling at £19.95, at least £5 cheaper than the Nespresso equivalent on Amazon.

I liked the range of coffee in the Wild to Mild. I drink a lot of coffee and have tried many brands of the Nespresso pods. The pack contained strengths from very mild (in my opinion) to rich and robust. I tried them in strength order. Adagio -4 this is the mildest. It has a smooth taste, that would be a good choice for those who like quality coffee but not too strong. I drink this in the evening. Delicato -5 this was not noticeably stronger than Adagio but I prefer the taste of this one. Still mild but a richer taste. Still a good choice for those that like milder coffee not lacking in taste. Vivace -8 this is a great flavour and a little more robust. For a selection box of pods I would want to start from this strength. The taste is smooth and deep. Ristretto - 10 this is a great coffee. Smooth robust and satisfyingly dark from start to finish. This is my favourite and my first morning cup. If I was to buy a box of single flavour pods this would be it. Undici -11 whilst this is still a good coffee I prefer the taste of the previous pod this is a smooth coffee that packs a punch. This is definitely an espresso coffee. One final comment is none of these coffees had a bitter aftertaste often found in other pods; I've found that this bitter aftertaste has nothing to do with price. A higher price doesn't necessarily mean a better taste.

I am a Nespresso convert and never quite enjoyed any compatible capsules until I tried Belmio. Belmio capsules are excellent and even better than the originals. The packaging is excellent and the sleeves fit perfectly in my acrylic dispenser. At the time of writing, the price for a gift pack of 50 capsules was 19.95 which is great value as the equivalent Nespresso pack of 50 Nespresso Variety pack is almost £28 at the time of writing. I have tried 3 of the 5 flavours and enjoyed all 3.

Nice coffee but several of the pods got squished in my Nespresso Inissia machine so only trickled out. Nice flavours though.

UPDATE - have discovered problem is with Dualit machines - they supply a gadget free to pierce Nespresso Capsules free of charge so now able to use these properly am enjoying very superior coffe IGNORE everything below this line do not buy these - total waste of money as foil is too thick as nothing comes out! As reviews differed from my experience I assumed that I was not using correctly so I took capsules to other Dualit owners I know but they did not work with their machines either. Simple problem, foil is too thick and Dualit cannot pierce it, even using toothpick to pick lots of holes (yes, I do have a lot of time on my hands and do not know when to admit defeat) did not help! Cannot give review on taste as cannot get even a drop out of the damn things!

This is a really good value “starter pack” that allows you to try multiple flavours. I definitely found some I liked for future purchases and others which were a little too weak for my preference. Great for those who like to try out different flavours and strengths. They do another set of flavours so will be purchasing that next to try out the full range.

I have a KitchenAid and although these capsules look the business and are aluminium like the Nespresso branded capsules my machine is not getting on with them. The flow is poor, the drip try is always full and the coffee, what coffee, did I mention the drip tray is always full. I have not had this issue before and the Nespresso capsules are still performing so it really is just these pods. I bought 100 capsules and I am using 3 capsules per cup, not a great situation, but the coffee is good!
