I’m still waiting.
Sowed three weeks ago and still no sign of germination, so much for 4 days as displayed on box. However reading small print on the box it does say under perfect conditions. Pigeons like it.Over 4 weeks and still nothing, weeds beginning to grow but no grass. Really can’t recommend this seed. I’ll give it another couple of weeks then I’ll start again and buy some turf.

Good quality seeds and massive pack
A really big box of grass seeds for covering of a large area of lawn or reseeding a full lawn. This is obviously a brand name product but means you can ensure you get a good spread of the seed... Some boxes of seeds in shops are 250g or 500g so this is 5-10 times more seeds, but without the hefty extra price. It does give instructions for spreading patterns, and you can do it by hand if you can manage to get an even spread... My technique probably needs a bit of work as I am not quite sure I can do it evenly or as sparingly as it says to spread it on the label, so probably just as well I had got plenty of seeds. They key to seeding is preparing the ground, evenness of spread and then getting the rain to come (or watering it regularly) once the seeds have gone out.I would recommend both this seed and this size of pack...good quality product, and good sized pack for the money.

Mixed feelings
I bought this because it is a well know brand...surely it must be OK despite many dodgy reviews?I Well it certainly did not grow after 4 days (but was it "in optimum growing conditions"? - who knows but that's a pretty good get out clause). After about a week and a half it was looking very patchy but coming through. The pigeons were certainly more impressed with this seed than I was at this stage - maybe the reason for the patchiness? After over a month it is starting to look like a lawn (if you don't look too closely)...but I have been filling in the patches with seed bought from Poundland and Tesco. The Tesco stuff has a grey coating which is supposed to deter birds....currently a pigeon is sitting on the fence looking at it, so maybe the coating works. Who knows.....? Maybe I should have turfed it?

But when they did over a fortnight later the grass grew quickly and is now nice and thick
The seeds did not germinate within 4 days hence losing a star. But when they did over a fortnight later the grass grew quickly and is now nice and thick. I've bought so many different boxes of grass seeds, this is the only one to actually work so far. Not bad in garden that has to put up with kids and dogs running across it all day.I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again to repair more patches in the future.

This really works. Maybe not 4 days but after ...
This really works. Maybe not 4 days but after 6 I had strong germination, 1 week later the grass is almost indistinguishable from the other grass around it. However it has to be covered with soil.I tried sprinkling it over the soil with no cover and it did not germinate, cover it and keep it damp and hey presto as expected it grows well.Update. This grass grows very well and now after 3 weeks its hardy and extremely tolerant to even the drought staying lush and green, however I have left it longer than normal at 4cm because of the drought. One more thing, its very important to cover it with a light compost or soil and keep it damp each night and it grows really well.

Would not now use anything else
Re-seeding a front small lawn, and so pleased with the results that I re-seeded bare patches on back lawn. I did weed the ground first and pulled out dead looking clumps of grass. I then ruffled the ground with a fork trowel, put the seed down and covered it with thin layer of top soil. I then covered the area with a fleece. Within 5 days I had germination. I try all different seed and now I will not use anything except this Fast Grass. I will use my different seed (slow) on patches that are out of view.

Took a couple of weeks rather than the 4 days claimed on the box but it's coming away nicely now.
Grass is growing away with some vigour now. I noted a number of negative reviews but to be honest, sowing in April/May is likely to always take a bit longer until we have a bit of heat and some rain. Took a couple of weeks rather than the 4 days claimed on the box but it's coming away nicely now.

Grass grew pretty quickly.
This didn’t grow in 4 days but a month after we put it down it has grown up beautifully and matched into existing lawn. Would definitely use it again. Nice thick coverage and not patchy or sparse.
