It's a mansize toy trucheon
I bought this truncheon for a cosplay costume. I knew it would be plastic (blow mould polyethylene or similar, like a ping pong ball but maybe a bit thicker). This is good because I wanted it light as I'll be wearing it all day. Seems sturdy enough for it's intended purposes - fancy dress - it will not deter an angry mob and it will probably crush if you sit on it. Its never going to be as hard-wearing as 'special effects" rubber or silicone truncheon but equally it's not going to be as expensive as one of them either. My main concern was the size - would it look small? Well, as stated in the listing, it's a full 21 inches long and, more importantly, the grip is credibly sized for an adult hand (I'm 6 foot and it scales well enough to me), perhaps a little narrow but within a reasonable tolerance. It's not baseball bat size (maybe rounders?) but it looks like an adult sized truncheon (I've never seen a real one). The plastic is a bit shiny, but you could get away without painting it I think, just as well because it's the kind of plastic paint doesn't like. Maybe scuff it up with some fine sand paper to make it looks a bit used. Yes, it will probably bend if you get over excited and bash it about. Yes, it will crush if you stand on it. Yes, it might blow away in a stiff breeze. But if you secure it to a costume to add a bit of detail it should stand up to a bit of wear and tear. Happy with it, good price.

I work for a prop rental company and i must say that given how cheap this is the quality is fantastic. Yes it is plastic (has a woody look about it though) and plastic is easier to damage but if you are careful with it it shouldn't be a problem. Very chuffed!

Believe it or not, bought for a wedding reception at a police social club. Sounds strange but the venue was brill and had the bride, groom, best man and ushers in police caps and someone arresting the couple with this play thing!

Good price for temporary toy.
Bought for my sons christmas play - I know.....policeman in a play? Its a nice little toy but arrived a bit dented as the plastic is so soft. Mind you after my kids have played with it it will be a lot more dented. Good price
