Car Battery Emulator Power Adaptor for Motorola XTS3000 XTS3500 XTS5000 Radio

This is a pretty good option to run your portable from a DC power source. Mine is attached to a 110 AC to 12vdc power supply with a cigarette lighter outlet. The "battery" adapter fits into the portable fairly well. The power connection either at the "battery/radio" or power adapter is a little sensitive and looses power. My unit sits on a counter and I power it on and off by plugging and unplugging the cigarette lighter end/power supply adapter and it works well for my purposes. In a moving vehicle it could be a little flaky. I am pretty happy with the set up for my purposes and would buy another.

I have a XTS5000. I removed the battery and installed this battery eliminator. Radio would not come on. It appears that the contacts are recessed to far for them to make contact with the contacts on the radio. Very disappointed.

I wish the cord was at the side or top but works great
