I've been converted to short running shorts. I love them.
I've been a longer-running-short kinda guy for a while. Some people I run with wear the short ones and I was feeling left out, alone, weak, and intimidated. Now I've got these bad boys. WOW! I'm now the leader of the pack! But seriously, they're a great short, the liner is comfy. I don't wear anything else with them if I'm doing shorter runs. If I'm doing long runs (10+ miles) I'll put something else on under them for some extra support and protection. These shorts come with two zipper pockets, one on each side. I usually just carry a house key or a car key with me, and they're perfect for that. They'll easily fit a few gel packets. They're light weight. They super short, so yes, you get great air flow. They're a funny kind of water-proof/water-resistant material, so sweat just beads up and runs right off of them which I like because sometimes when I'm running it looks like I peed myself. That's not an attractive look. I don't get that peed-myself look with these shorts. I now have three pairs of these shorts, two black pairs and one of these baby-blue shorts. I had to size down to fit into these. I normally just buy medium shorts, but for these I got smalls. I'm a 30-31 inch waist, and the smalls fit perfect. See the size chart to make sure you're getting the right size, it's helpful and I encourage you to NOT doubt the size chart.

Absolutely amazing shorts!! Comfortable, lightweight, and fit great
My husband loves these shorts!! He's 5'10", weighs 185lbs, and has a 35" waist. 100% true to size. He's purchased multiple pairs at this point since we live in a very, very hot part of the country. He wears them every day not just to run and workout but also to lounge and even sleep in. They're lightweight, they dry quick, and hold up well when washed. He prefers there being no drawstring but if that's a requirement for you just be aware.

Great running and swimming shorts.
Great shorts for a workout. Good liner, no drawstring, zipper pockets are great to keep your phone and not catch your thumb as you swing your arms. The fabric shows sweat as it runs down the front of your pants, making it appear as though it’s an inside job. They work really well as a bathing suit, too.

Comfy, lightweight shorter shorts that fall just a bit short of perfection.
I bought these shorts for mostly whenever I'm jogging or it's leg day as I don't like having all that extra fabric around my thighs and legs. I wanted something shorter than average, but not too short that they would get a bit too revealing when at the gym or just jogging in general. I'm 5'7" and I went with a 3-inch inseam length. The Good: I've had these shorts for about three months now and I find them quite comfortable when working out. Sometimes I wear them around the house or when going to bed. I've washed them many times and the colors haven't faded out. I like the design including the triangular sides (not split sides). I find the small pockets on the sides with zippers very useful when I need to put keys. The Bad: I think the only drawback (though I should have read the description better) is the lack of drawstring. It feels a bit weird not having a drawstring, so they can drop down easily under unexpected accidents. The side pockets are quite small so it could be an issue to some people. Then again, the shorts are supposed to be lightweight for a reason. Nonetheless, they fit well on me and they work for the purpose intended. I will definitely buy another pair of them in the future if I need a replacement for my current pair. I would give them 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Unbeatable quality for the price
I've had 10 pairs of these short for aroumd 3 years and the only thing that has worn out is the logo. Zippers work perfectly, no holes in the pockets, and not worn out waist band. I wear these shorts everyday at the gym or running, they nicely showcase your quads if you've got them.

Worth the money
The most comfortable workout shorts I own. Streches easily when needed and is not constrictive. Size chart is accurate. WILL BE BUYING MORE!

Good quality
I really like these shorts. They are kinda short shorts so it shows a lot of skin, but you know what, I don't care. I am not into conventions. If girls can show a lot more, I'm OK showing the full lenght of my legs. It's summer. These are great shorts for a run around the lake. Not good for gym workout though. Obviously.

Decent affordable running short
These have become one of my favorite pairs of running and PT shorts. I know short running shorts are not the current fashion rage, but having been running and rowing now for well over 30 plus years I find them most functional. At 5'10" and 160 lbs., I don't consider myself short, but I am also not tall. Add to that a 31" inseam and I find popular 9 inch shorts hit at or below my knee and tend to be very baggy. This makes me look like a little kid trying to wear his big brothers shorts and failing at it. It also causes a lot of excess material flapping around my legs as I run causing annoyance and distraction. These shorts cover what needs to be covered while allowing freedom of unrestricted leg movement. The zip pockets are also a nice feature. ID's and hotel room keys don't fit in old fashioned "key pockets" in most old school running shorts. These pockets easily accommodate and ensure they remain secure during a run. They will also fit a phone, though not my preference. As for after the run, the shorts dry fast, so I am not walking around feeling like a soggy mess. Also I usually have a pair of sweats in the car I pull on over them so I don't have to listen to anyone telling me "the 1980's called and they want their running shorts back". :) Only two down sides are that the brief could probably be a little more supportive and the shorts are made in China which I find politically problematic. Had I know the location of manufacture beforehand I might not have bought them, as I have no way of knowing that they were not made under repressive and torturous conditions. @Amazon, please start finding other vendors outside China. PLEASE!!!

These are absolutely great. Amazing fit, very lightweight, nice design, and it's good to have the zipper pockets. I am slightly concerned that I've had two tops entangled in the zipper handles and damaged from it, so I wonder whether the zipper handle has some unfortunate shape or anything, but I can't quite figure out yet what's happening there. So I just run topless for now.
