This is an exceptionally beautiful walking stick, handcrafted by an American artisan. It was cut from a healthy, straight-grained piece of solid, US-grown and -harvested pine. It's very nicely balanced with a nice heft, without being too heavy. The rubber tip is nice. My old (stolen) Irish blackthorn cane (shillelagh) didn't have one, and this is a nice, stabilizing addition. I also appreciate the stick's comparative greater height and weight. Our dog Mugsy walks me about 4 miles each morning. Way too many neighbors allow their dogs to run loose; add in a few strays, and the occasional urban coyote, and I've had need of a good, solid staff to whale away menacingly at charging marauders more than a handful of times. (It's a pity I can't go after their absent owners, the real culprits.) Despite its heft, this 72 year old woman can easily swing it if needed. My new walking stick is of the highest quality wood and workmanship -- even more handsome than its photos indicate. I would have expected to pay far more. In fact, I did pay nearly three times this price about thirty years ago for a similar staff I'd bought as a gift for a dear friend. I *love* my new prize, and plan to buy another as a Christmas gift for my brother and furry nephew for their walkies. If you're wavering, be assured that it's a terrific buy.

Fantastic! Exactly what I needed! The 55 inch is the perfect height for me, I am 5’7”. The diameter of the stick fits perfectly in my hand. It assists me while walking the dogs, getting out of my chair and getting out of bed. The quality is very nice. Very well constructed with just the right amount of detail. Love it!

I actually bought this stick for defense against any dogs (on two legs or four) that might want to play with me when I go out on a walk. That being said, it appears to be very sturdy and the twisting is an attractive addition. I do wish it had a soft grip wrapped around it to hold onto as my hand is soft and feels it if I hold onto it for too long. And despite being only 5'6", I probably would have gotten a longer walking stick. Regardless, I love it and it is an attractive and sturdy stick. The picture shows the grips I added to the handle so I would have something softer to hold onto. I was failing miserably with the gel only below the grip. using a lot on both sides was the trick that worked for me.

Great quality walking stick. I am quite impressed. This walking stick is made of great quality wood that is designed to last. It is the perfect length as well.

This walking stick has become a great tool to have around. It does help you propel forward with ease and less fatigue, leaning is much more fun when you need a rest, increased my stability, used for hiking & trekking. It's meant to get beat up and gains character. Wood is solid, but not heavy, each piece unique, I purchased 6 I know! My only issue is my desire to have a copper bottom rather than the rubber BUT the rubber bottom does make this extremely reliable and sturdy when bracing yourself. Get a walking stick and see all the ways it just helps you to be a better human.

Sturdy and great craftsmanship

Beautiful piece. Wood seems strong and dimensions are accurate. Works well for a cane for a tall older gentleman who isn't ready for traditional mobility supports.
