The Topper Collection (Topper, Topper Takes A Trip, Topper Returns)

These are must-see paranormal comedies, featuring some of the biggest stars of the day, hilariously haunting Topper (Roland Young), in three raucous escapades—beginning with Cary Grant and Constance Bennett in the original film, Constance Bennett returning for a solo adventure in the second, and concluding with “Gold Diggers” sexy, comedic bombshell Joan Blondell recruiting Topper to help her solve her own murder. It’s a good old fashioned silly laugh-fest that keeps you coming back for more. The DVD set is of very good quality and includes the colorized versions of the films (as televised in later years), in addition to the original black and white versions (although I prefer the black and white as they were meant to be seen). Excellent set of this wonderful trilogy.

No issues with ordering, packaging or delivery .. Really enjoyed having purchased this three disc collection of "Topper' film classics (by VCI Entertainment). I thought they did a very respectable job overall. As was mentioned by others, each disc also contains a colorized version of these films, but I haven't bothered with those simply because I prefer the original black and white presentations (which is what I base my comments here on). The DVD case describes these films as having their picture and sound digitally restored and, I found all three to be delightful in this regard. While I didn't happen to notice any glitches of which a couple of other reviewers had referenced (of some brief moment where a frame or two turns 'red'), it certainly couldn't have been significant enough to knock a star off the rating, presuming that I somehow looked away at the right moment and somehow missed whatever the 'red' glitch was. I was able to thoroughly enjoy all three of these DVDs without the slightest hiccup, which for me, is even more noteworthy since my DVD player is quite finicky with DVD media for whatever the reason. I remember having seen these films so many years earlier and am pleased with having purchased this set. All three films are delightful and the ghostly antics in each will certainly generate a few laughs along the way.

My husband loves his birthday present. So do I. We watch them a lot. Now we don't have to hunt for 3 DVD's

Watched all three Topper movies on this DVD and can say the video resolution quality is quite excellent. Watched on a 55 inch screen with excellent resolution. I was a bit surprised since I have seen very poor transfers of the original Topper over the years but this dvd is excellent . Very recommended.

a great movie, even when seen in the 2020s! The other two movies, Topper Takes A Trip(good) and Topper Returns(very good), are just not up to the greatness of the first movie. Of course with Cary Grant in it, that's not surprising! Well worth seeking out the set as it sets up the TV show with Leo G. Carrol in it! Fun movies! RP

I know these are old movies, but they look and sound GREAT. I am thankful for the memories.

The Topper movies were filmed in black and white, so these colorized versions are a big improvement!
