Used Between Sheets of Durock
I've used adhesive-backed aluminized heat shields like these for many years in automotive applications, but I used this item for a different application... I'm finishing an outdoor kitchen build and used this between two layers of 1/2" Durock (cement fiber board used in construction of showers, etc.) to prevent the heat from my built-in grill from radiating to areas with flammable materials. Why did I choose this approach? Because the grill companies want $1,200+ for a grill liner which is basically just some stainless steel sheet welded together at the the appropriate dimensions. Yes, I used metal studs to build the grill section, but I used pressure-treated wood everywhere else because it's soooo much easier to work with (at least for me). A single layer of 1/2" Durock and metal studs alone probably would've sufficed, but I always tend to overengineer things, and since I was so familiar with this material, I figured the extra layer of reflectivity back to the grill, in addition to another layer of Durock, couldn't hurt. I even ended up using another 1/4" layer of Durock all around to fill in the spacing a tad. The large sheet size in which this item was available made it perfect for my application. Yes, it was folded, but I was able to get it flattened out pretty easily, and for this use case, a purely aesthetic wrinkle line wouldn't matter. It was a great value and adhered very well to the smooth side of the Durock. I used Loctite PL Premium 3X to bond the reflective side of it to the other layer of Durock, and it worked great. Cutting it was easy with some normal office scissors, and when I trimmed the Durock sandwich with this in the middle with a masonry blade (both angle grinder and circular saw), the heat shield presented zero problems. I'd definitely purchase this again, and will probably proactively buy another large sheet just to keep on hand for future projects.

Great for protecting your under cabinets from heat and steam.
These cut easily and have great adhesion so they are easy to install - even in an awkward place like under a cabinet. I installed mine six months ago and they still look great. I use mine over my airfryer so the heat doesn't effect my cabinets. Love it!

Sticks pretty well, but add some of your own adhesive if in the engine bay
I put this to cover my evaporator housing in my engine bay on a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria after the original insulation more or less, turned in to dust. Just know that you may want to get some 3M adhesive spray as the adhesive on these mats are tacky but they do start to peel off a bit. They don't fall off though, just the edges and such are starting to peel back. But know, these are right up against an exhaust manifold for a 4.6L V8 engine. Maybe 3 in ches away? Pretty good for my install though. Cuts well and conforms as needed.

Great quality
Works good , good thickness not too thick, just wish the fiberglass didn’t come off to easy. Good fit and size.

Perfect For What I Needed!
I bought this to cover the side of a cabinet where steam/heat from a dishwasher was starting to cause damage. This was very easy to apply and the adhesive seems strong - the sheet didn't shift at all while I was installing. I paired this with some heat shield tape and it all seems to be doing the job. I probably should have ordered one more sheet to cover the entire cabinet side but I was able to cover the areas where I could see damage with no trouble.

Did the Job
I needed these to wrap an area close to my header. They have very strong adhesive and have not came loose or disintegrated due to the heat.
