My son has been BEGGING for "Lego gears" for over a year. This is an excellent variety of pieces for him to be able to build to his hearts content.

My kids are into robotics with building block sets. The name brand accessories can be a little expensive. This set has been a good alternative. Everything has worked perfectly with the other robotics sets. Great value for the set.

Quality not the same as Lego, some pieces were loose and others tight, considering the cost I guess that's not too bad. My son doesn't really notice much.

I hate Lego sets. They inspire a lack of creativity by instructing a kid to build everything in a certain way, and then to never take it back apart, lest he loses a critical piece and can never be able to rebuild it. I'd much rather give a kid a bunch of wheels and gears and let them use their imagination to get the gears spinning in their mind to create something cool. That is exactly what this set is for.
