Alesis MultiMix 16 FireWire 16-Channel Analog Mixer

Yes it does met my need ,

Installed several firewire devices to try and get this working - installed, reinstalled drivers - has never worked - what a con !!! As an analogue mixer it's sort of OK but the pre-amps are cheap and of poor quality Be warned - do NOT buy Alesis equipment - they DO NOT maintain updates - and obviously have a total disregard for their customers !!!

I've used this board a couple of times for live mixing, but mainly for home studio recording for the past 8 years. It has always performed flawlessly. I have most recently been using it with a 2011 MacBook Pro, OS 10.10, and the latest version of GarageBand. I started using this board in 2008 with a 2004 iBook and whatever version of GarageBand was present at that time. Easy controls, FireWire reliability, what else can I say?

Not even worth 1 star. Problems with firewire implementation. Crippled cakewalk software. Advised by Alesis to upgrade firmware. Applied firmware update, bricked item. It no longer even works as a mixer !!! Great. I have to return item at my expense to Alesis so they can reflash.

I have to just about all the prosumer capture devices... I find I love the alesis stuff the best... The io26 is super simple and wonderful, but the Multimix 16 is a really good low cost mixer, I'm just sorry they have discontinued it.... I'm planning to pick up a couple of them to use in various locales because I have had such good luck with them.... if you find one, buy it.
