I love these little guys. To be effective, all the unglazed portion should be below the soil line so plan on re-potting or putting in your container pre-potting. Convenient to add water and the colors are great. They would be perfect indoors- It's hard for them to stay ahead of the summer sun and heat in outdoor containers but they still make me happy when I use them.

I live in Arizona and it gets dry and hot. My favorite gardener recommends olla and I found these to be a great price and size for what I needed. I just asked for and received a second set for my birthday. They were packaged well and arrived safely. I like the lid to keep out mosquitos and limit evaporation. So far they seem to work well. I can skip days between watering and my plants are doing well. I'm pleased with these for my smaller pots and look forward to getting the new ones installed, too.

I have these ollas placed right next to plants in a raised bed. They work really well but only hold water for a couple days in the heat of summer. However, a bottle can be flipped upside down into them to expand their water storage.

They all seem to retain water for only 1-2 days, but in my very hot climate it helps my raised herb garden. They look good. I'd buy again.
