The definitive non masterpiece grade Ironhide
Ironhide toys have had a hard evolution. The initial toy was nothing like the 80s show. The War For Cybertron line addressed many issues, but when the earthrise vanette variation came out, Ironhide's feet were sticking off the back of the vehicle. Prior to this figure, if you wanted a cartoon accurate Ironhide, you were going to have to pay for a masterpiece grade version that was great, but not in scale with the other toys(unless you collected a lot of masterpiece grade versions). Here we finally have Ironhide done right. Ironhide is about as perfect as I can picture him being in robot mode. Articulation means that you can pose this dynamic, energetic, and active character as he appeared in the show and movie without compromise. He dual wields his pistols like the true gunfighter he is. Ironhide looks very good as a vanette. No "partsforming" is involved in the transformation. The pistols can be stored either on the bottom of the van or pegged into the top. The only minor issue concerns molded details on the van that have no color. The strip is molded on the side, but has no color. The back of the vanette has a solid red "window" while all the other windows on the vanette are transparant blue plastic. The rear bumper is at least painted silver. I may end up purchasing a third party stick sheet to address this issue, but this is really the only issue I see with the figure. Overall a great figure. Fans of the 80s show will be extremely pleased that this character finally got a worthy treatment at a great price point.

Great to see the old cartoons' robot mode after all these years!
This is one of my favorite figures since I started collecting them again. He looks just like the 80s cartoon character and he still transforms into the same looking van as the toy in the 80s. The old sled and figure with a face sticker is gone. There is a kind of weird hinge in the middle of the van mode's body but it's easy to overlook that, especially because I display him in robot mode anyway. Very articulated and fun to transform. It's durable, the transforming feels very solid and it holds its pose very easily. This is a memory from my childhood that is better in every way than the original toy.

Great incarnation of Ironhide and an excellent toy despite its flaws.
Ironhide is an excellent character in the Transformers universe. This is a must-have if you missed out on any of his previous releases in Siege or Earthrise. The transformation can be tight in a few areas due to poorly toleranced clear plastic. This item is a bit overpriced with a Voyager price tag if you already have some version of Ironhide. Mine arrived from Amazon with a damaged box, which only added to my personal disappointment.

Ironhide is excellent!
Ironhide is 6" tall by 3.5" wide. This figure looks great in robot mode. It poses very well and holds them decently. The transformation is a bit complex and may suffer from some tolerance issues. I personally will only display or have this figure in robot mode. The van/alt mode looks ok, I don't like how the plastic red colors don't all match and the roof part on mine won't stay clipped together. Overall I really do recommend this figure as it's a fantastic representation of the character from the 80s cartoon and animated movie. Blast effects from other transformers work on his guns and he has great details throughout. Truely a really well done figure for the money.

Ultra Ironhide:-)
This is an essential figure if you like G1 Transformers. It's better than that the messy hipped Masterpiece in my opinion. It looks a lot like the cartoon version, it has a pleasingly complicated transformation, it is quite solid and it comes equipped with two pistols. The weak points is that there is some delicate transparent plastic in there. I have 3 copies of the figure, so you can tell that I ultra recommend it
