Innovative but not fully sorted out
I wanted to like this camera but found it a mixed bag, and how well it may work for you depends on your specific priorities. The good:1) Daytime pictures are reasonably good for this price class2) The adjustable pitch hinge works as advertised and can speed camera setup3) The laser aiming system is pretty cool and works as described in the remarks below4) Short trigger timesThe not-so-good:1) Anything within about 5 feet/2 meters of the camera is solid white in night shots2) Motion blur, both daytime and nighttime, is worse than for three other cameras I’ve owned3) The clip that attaches the back cover of the camera section to the battery section is tricky to latch, especially when you’re being harassed by mosquitoes4) Depending on the specific setup, removing the memory card may first require folding the camera head away from the battery section before opening the camera back. This is not a big thing if you check the camera infrequently, but is more significant if you pull the memory card daily. After reinstalling the memory card you may have to re-aim the camera.Additional remarks:I was expecting a button to turn on the laser and was confused when the documentation did not refer to a button. The laser simply turns on when the camera is armed. It’s adequate for determining the center of the picture, but a video screen would work better to show the complete frame of the picture the camera will take. Also, the laser can be a little hard to see in very bright conditions. But it’s cool. The camera hinge works well to adjust the camera in pitch but there’s no adjustment in roll, so if the branch or tree you’re attaching the camera to is tilted sideways from the target area, the pictures will be canted. Engineering a hinge to handle pitch and roll and wiring would probably not be worth the expense; just be aware the current design works but won’t address all camera orientation situations. If you’re planning on taking daytime pictures of slow-moving animals or nighttime pictures of larger animals not too close to the camera, this trail camera will be fine. But if you’re trying to take pictures of smaller nocturnal animals, this camera may not be your best solution. If the animals are close to the camera, night pictures will be washed out and the animals will be white blobs. Moving the camera farther away will reduce the dazzle but also make the animals appear smaller. I tried fitting foil over the LEDs to reduce deflect the flash up and reduce the dazzle, but the result wasn't satisfactory. To improve this camera, the washout and motion blur issues should be addressed (cameras from other manufacturers do better in my experience), and the possibility of putting the controls and cover on the side of the camera head should be considered to eliminate the memory card access hassle.

My camera stopped working after one season. I can't get any help at the customer service! Nice camera when it worked, not worth it for only one season!!
