a good old-school pant
what this pant has going for it: * made of 100% cotton duck * made of 0% anything else * broad color selection rather than just "brown or black" * straight stitch construction on the inside leg seam (versus a triple-stitched flat-felled inside seam. i explain my rationale below.) why each of these was an important factor to me: nylon, poly, and flex materials are more prone to unsightly pilling in high-wear areas. flex materials specifically (spandex, elastane, etc) will eventually wear out within a couple years resulting in a slouchy fit. cotton duck OTOH is widely regarded as both being more resilient, but at the same time, lighter, than denim. much like those popular duck cotton work jackets, these pants are so stiff that they can basically stand up on their own when new. but like high quality shoes, i expect them to take on a wonderful patina and softness as they get broken in. the straight stitch inside leg seam means that someone like me, who really only knows how to do straight and zig-zag machine stitches, can easily and cleanly tailor the legs into a slightly slimmer, tapered modern cut if you so desire. while not having triple-stitched seams on both the inside and outside seems like a quality downgrade, i have never owned a pair of pants that gave out on the inside seam, so this is a worthwhile compromise for me. specifics of fit and construction that may work for me but not for you: this is a fairly mid to high-rise pant. they sit at my belly button, which i find more comfortable than lower rise pants that sit more on the hips. i found they fit pretty well through the seat and thigh (stocky leg day physique), but i did slightly slim up the legs from the knee down for a more tailored, neat look. i will fess up to being a "blue collar cosplayer" who intends to wear these for general use rather than rugged jobsite work, as i can't justify spending $100 or more on a fashion offering that adds inflated cost by branding itself as a "vintage" design. thus, i cannot give any meaningful feedback on the resilience of this fabric. but it feels of equivalent quality to every major duck chore/field coat out there. anyway, if you're looking for what should be a long-lasting piece, in a synthetic-free fabric, give these a shot. especially if you have an affinity for clothes that actually get better with more wear.

31/32 true to size. UPDATE: comfortable, holding up very well after 2 months of heavy work use.
Pretty decent. True to size. Maybe just a tiny bit small on the waist...they do loosen up as you wear them. Good leg room. I'm 6'1. 180. Fit, not skinny. I got a 31/32. Long enough...some 32s are too short for me. Fit nicely over work boots. I had pants like this a couple years ago when I weighed over 200 lbs and had more of a belly. I didn't find the waist so comfortable then. I like them now. They are tailored more for someone thinner IMO...but the slightly lower waist line on the pants helps. That's new I think. Unless you have much bigher than average legs, these should fit most guys with muscular legs. Pockets are decent. Not the biggest or easiest to get big hands into but not bad at all. Fabric is not thin or cheap. I just got some dickies jeans aa well...these are not as thick as those are but still I'm thinking they'll be pretty durable especially for 20 dollar pants. Color is nice (grey). Biggest issue, that keeps me from rating them 5 stars, is that there is not quite enough crotch room to make them a great fit. It's not so bad that I'd return them...and I wouldn't say that they're uncomfortable but I'd prefer a bit more room on that area. I think that they may loosen up a bit in that area too after a few washes/wears. If they don't fall apart (not expected), I'll buy a couple more. UPDATE: after wearing then a lot for 2 months, I can say the pa ts DID loosen up a bit. They are perfectly comfortable and despite heavy use as one of my favorite pairs of work pants and kneeling on concrete sometimes etc...these have held up GREAT.

Nice jeans but the sizing is a bit off
These seem to be a well made and sturdy pair of jeans. However the sizing is definitely off. I wear a size 34x34 in jeans, casual pants and dress pants. I always have a little extra room in my waist and perfect leg length. With these Dickies the size 34 waist is tight! Equivalent to a 32 inch waist you would find on a pair of Levi's. The length is also quite long, the 34 inch length is probably closer to a 36 inch length. Overall I should have ordered a 35x32, even though I am a 34x34 in all other pants.

Where is the size 31
Size 30 W is true to fit. Material is thick and durable, none of that stretchy business. Hammer hoop can fit a real hammer. Made in Mexico. Wish they had size 31 in stock so I can wear long johns under them this winter.

Dickies Carpenter Pants, The Only Way To Go
High quality rip-stop, traditional cargo pockets, traditional Dickies' carpenter pants stretchiness, slight plastic smell that comes out with a wash. Excellent fit as always.

Good pants
Better price than other brands but same quality. I wear them for work, but you can also wear them casually

Inconsistent between colors.
So here’s the thing, I bought two pairs of pants today on the same Amazon page one brown and one green. The greens ones fit great and have a product tag saying they were made in Kenya which is where the other pairs I have say they are from. The brown ones don’t fit good, way baggy down the legs and loose in the seat, that tag says it’s from Nicaragua. The style code is CA01095 on both pairs but they are clearly not the same which is super frustrating. Even on the product description the model code matches so how the heck can anyone be sure which style pants they are getting? So imo the ones from Kenya are perfect, they come just a little tight in the seat, ya gotta break them in a little which is exactly what I’m looking for. After that they last forever. So idk what to tell someone looking for a review cause I’m gonna review the green ones and say they are perfect, these however are not, although if you’re a chunkster than maybe you’ll like it the other way around. I’m lean muscular 185 5’8” and a 32x32 is perfect in the green loose with the brown.

Perfect fitting
Got these for my husband, sometimes I have to beg him to let me wash them! He works in then goes out in them and keep him warming during winter. Definitely recommend
