High-quality - Reliable
These things are a bit pricey, but they work as advertised. The ways you can manage watering are too many to mention. The app is solid and fairly intuitive.

Great Product
Having decided to rehabilitate our lawn, my wife and I were looking for a way to save time by automating lawn watering without having to install underground sprinkler system. LinkTap had good reviews and we went ahead and bought D1 and G2S. We are very happy with the purchase. Installation and app setup was quick and easy. The app has several features that are very useful rain skip, ability to set various watering schedules, keep track of water usage. So far we have had no problems

As good as it gets
It's not just that this device is built like a tank. The accompanying app is so unbelievably versatile. Developer has thought of just about everything. Granted the app UI isn't the sexiest. Apple users might be aghast at its GUI but once past that, the features are amazingly robust. Too many to mention here. Deeply customizable watering routines that can be tweaked based on historical and predicted localized weather (rain forecast amounts, temperature constraints). Great analytics and notification features. Works remotely for us frequent travelers. Even problems like impeded water flow or disconnects trigger notifications. If you're a power user with phone apps and love home gardening and looking for a high tech answer to irrigation, this is it.

Good above ground WiFi water timer with 2 outlets
The Linktap D1 Wireless Water Timer with 2 - Outlets needs the Linktap Gateway for operation. A couple of additional things for this unit is the 2 outlet for 2 different above ground hoses and it has an integrated flow meter to measure physical water consumption. Still uses the same interface and app as it's predecessor which has a ton of features, but not always easy to figure out the interface to get the data you want. Overall, similar to the previous units except with dual flow outlets and integrated flow meter with lots of SW features.

This thing works!
Some others have mentioned the app is a bit odd, but technically speaking it's excellent. The app takes a little exploring and a bit of getting used to, but I'll take a highly capable app that might not be instantly obvious over a hot UI mess any day. The only tricky thing I've run into is adjusting schedule phase. Just delete and re-add an interval schedule with a different start date. It seems to obey the schedule implied by the start date and interval even across pauses lasting 24h or more. This is good since it allows specifying staggering that stays in effect across a pause. The ports are plastic but it seems reasonably strong. I do try to provide some strain relief in case a hose is tripped over, but same goes for any device like this. The ports don't leak so far.Despite the instructions saying not to use NiMH, I'm using eneloop AA 1.2V and of course the indicated battery percent starts at ~67-72 %, and I might run into refusal to water due to low % sooner than I would with alkaline, but it works great for now. Honestly I think they should just update their SW to let you specify that you're using NiMH. Battery drain rate so far seems consistent with this working fine for quite a while. As others have mentioned, these stop the flow quickly; in my setup it works fine. The wireless range seems about typical for ZigBee, which is maybe a bit better than wifi. It deals fine with 30% signal.I appreciate the fall detection and whatnot being optional, and how it allows adjusting the valve pulse duration should that become necessary later on.My comments are the app are based on the android app. No idea re. any iOS app.

Nice option
We've had singles for a few years and one died due to plastic hose connector cracking. I decided to get this to use. It was easy to configure. Overall, we love the linktap system. The ui got better this past year. Functionality is great. It us nice having it skip based on rainfall.

D1 is not durable
I have three D1 and none of them still works after 1.5 years even if I maintained them well and removed the battery during winter
