These worked well to replace the Springs in a few of my cooking tongs. The center hole was a bit big but thats my fault for not checking. If they are good stainless and last. I'm happy.

Purchased on 7/10/2025 and the two I originally installed worker well until they failed about a week ago. I went to the box of 8 remaining and the first 2 were useless. So they lasted with spring 2 months and 24 +/- days. See photo for the opening power currently on replacements 5 & 6.

These worked well on light duty tools. However, they aren't powerful enough for heavier tools.

These are nice little springs and I had to install 2 on the hinges to my hollow (not solid) closet door. I don't think they could even move a solid door. I needed better airflow from the closet and I didn't want to remove the door. This is a very lightweight door and I thought 1 spring would be enough but 2 was just perfect, at first. It opened the door about 75% open. However after the door was used for a few months it would only open the door about 5% I suppose I could have added 1 more spring but I opted for a stronger spring design and just 1 of the other springs is very quickly opening that door to 100%. Not ideal but better that 5% I would have given a higher rating if they had performed for more than a few months.

I liked that I was able to find these on Amazon so I didn't have to spend a fortune on a brand new garbage can. Thank you Amazon!

There are springs that are sold 4 for $15-$20 that are marketed as residential door hinge openers. These work identically for less: Door hinge pins fit through these springs coils. Might wrap them with tape to achieve same scratch proofing as plastic dipped, marketed ones. My heavy door needed springs on all 3 hinges. YMMV

This will work but I wondering if there is another item that is little stronger than this.

Trying to replace a spring in my garbage can and the measurements for this spring seemed possible but ended up being too wide in the coil which was hard to detect before trying them.

Works as expected

These springs are NOT stainless steel (as described by the seller) as they are magnetic in nature. Not being SS, they tend to corrode easily, and have a much shorter life. I paid a very high price for the non-SS materials in place of SS springs. Useless for me.
