Garmont Boots Rock!
Garmont Boots Rock! I use both the T8 NFS 670 (this item) and the Bifida Boots. They are made very well, and the leather and synthetic materials form a very nice product. Both boots are different animals and do require break in. Once they have more or less adapted to your feet, they are very comfortable. In fact, I’d say they are the best ones out there. A certain style of sock will need to match your boot and foot and it may need to be thicker or thinner depending on how things feel. You will need to figure all that out. I wear a size 11 boot. The T8 (Sized 11) came in almost a little on the tighter side, but after breaking in they fit very well, like an extension of your foot, and that's what you need. No slipping, no sliding etc. The Bifida on the other hand fit a 1/2 size larger for me, so had to return and now have a 10-1/2. It then had a slightly different feel than the T8s. You will definitely notice the thicker tread which is great for rocky trail / road areas, and the rear part of the heel is slightly higher than the rest of the boot. At first with the Bifidas, there was this issue with a strange feel towards the back of the insole. It was like my heel was being placed on the back top edge of the insert. It dug into my heel for a little bit, and it felt weird. I pulled the insole out, wore the boot, and the tight feel showed me that the boot was the right size. I put the insoles back in and just grunted through it all. After hiking and fast walking about 20 miles altogether on varied terrain, they now fit as good as the T8s, in fact maybe a little better. The T8s did not have any issue with the insoles, and are more like a very nice leather high top that you could run in and not get shin splints or blisters (if they are fitting properly). The Bifidas have a thicker bitchin’ Vibram tread to the bottom and handle rocky trails and muddy areas just fine. But that said, be aware that both aren't in the same class as hiking boots. For cases where you are out in the middle of nowhere near medium to larger sized rocks that can cause your ankle to roll, wear hiking boots instead, where your ankle will be completely immobilized (or close to that). I wish Garmont made a hiking boot that was made of the same type of materials. I’d choose that over the other commercial offerings.

Not pleased, delivery damage
Two topics in this review: one good, one bad. 1. Over all I’m impressed with these boots. Initial lace up and try was very comfortable! You can feel the comfort and quality !! Can’t wait to get them broken in. They seem like they will break in easy. 2. Very disappointed!!! 180$ for boots!! I would expect them to be pristine when I open the box…. Nope! The toe of the boots looked worn from either someone trying them on or the shipping either way unacceptable for 180$!! Also both are like permanently creased ! And I know this is petty but the laces were half laced but not even. I tried to reach out to the company via Amazon but we all know how worthless that ever changing process is. So I am leaving a review in hopes they reach out. Update: changed my review to 5stars since customer service was extremely helpful! They did not ask me to mention I change the review I am changing on my own! But a couple weeks wearing these boots I will say I am loving them. Just heavy compared to my nike or others but seem very sturdy and durable. I think I just found my forever boot!!

👍
Fantastic ACU summer boots. Got me through many FTXs. Didn’t take long to break in, plenty of traction. Fits a little tight on the sides.

BEST BOOT!
Husband LOVES these boots they’re perfect fit everytime, we will continue to buy these! They last 2 years + you can change out the insole if they get worn out after a year or two. Fit great, they’re not to heavy and they’re so comfortable!

Great Army boot at a great price!
First time trying out these Garmont boots. They are amazing!!! They fit perfectly (I'm an 8.5 M in all running shoes and most other Army boots) and felt great without even breaking them in. They are extremely comfortable, almost like trainers. They're also comfortable when running. They aren't lightweight, but I honestly don't mind or even think about the weight. The soles are grippy (the rubber is sticky, out of the box) and the boots give enough grip to slowly walk through ice (currently stationed in Korea and just started the winter season of freezing temps, ice, and snow). Paired with some thicker, winter socks (I have only used thicker summer weight socks so far), they can keep your feet at a good temperature. I'm not sure yet how well they'll keep you feet warm when resting out in freezing temps during any military exercises. Make sure you buy some lanolin oil (sheep's oil) to prep the boot for wear. The instructions that come with the boots state to use a very thin application on the leather parts of the boot and hence, gives a really good dark brown color (lanolin changes the color of leather). Lanolin keeps the leather hydrated and gives some protection to wear and dirt. You can also top the boot off with some waterproofer too, for extra protection and water repellancy. Don't use too much lanolin in one spot as it'll smoothen out the napped finish.

Garmont T8 Bifida: the universally acclaimed best infantry boot in the world. Others come, get compared to the Bifida, excite a few people and ultimately fail to live up to the standards of comfort, durability and reliability set by this iconic product. This isn’t a fast boot. That’s the NFS. But if you work on your feet, if you hike or ruck with weight, this is a phenomenal boot.
